Brenden Rice, son of NFL legend Jerry Rice, flew to Dallas on Saturday to carry the casket and deliver the obituary speech at Keith Miller III’s funeral.
Miller III, Rice’s best friend and former Texas A&M-Commerce wide receiver, was found dead earlier this month. He was just 23 years old.
According NFL NetworkRice, the USC star, boarded a flight to Texas for the funeral, but will answer the call when he arrives.
Miller was found near the Texas A&M-Commerce campus two weeks ago.
The soccer star’s shocking death caused great pain to his loved ones, former teammates and coaches, as well as the Dallas community.

Rice, whose father Jerry had an NFL Hall of Fame career, was a former teammate of Miller’s at Colorado.
Both began their college careers in Boulder before transferring to Texas A&M Commerce and USC, respectively.
“I love you brother,” the young Rice wrote on Instagram. She also appeared to say that she would take care of Miller’s son, adding: “In all that I love, your (sic) son will be taken care of.”
In another post with a photo of Miller and a child, Rice wrote, “Luka has gone straight, I got him.”
Miller’s girlfriend, Caila Jae, stated that “Keith was mentally struggling with something that neither I nor even his mother could help him with.”
Rice, a former Colorado teammate of the late receiver, shared a photo of Miller’s son.
Miller III began playing college football at Colorado before transferring to Commerce.
Shortly after news of Miller’s death emerged, a fundraising was launched with all funds ‘going towards funeral costs, family support and directly to his young son’.
Rice hopes to be drafted this weekend, believing he and Caleb Williams can emulate Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski if they are both selected by the Chicago Bears.
Former USC quarterback Williams was the first overall pick, having enjoyed a promising relationship with Rice on the Trojans.
‘I’m telling you, we could take it. We could be the next duo, just like Gronk and Tom Brady,” Rice said. TMZ.
