Swift’s new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ came out on Friday and, unsurprisingly, generated a lot of buzz, including in the sports world.
The 14-time Grammy winner’s latest release is making waves beyond her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and the NFL.
Rizzo, the Yankees first baseman, supported Swift’s new album by wearing a black hoodie with a collage of photos of the singer before his team hosted the Tampa Bay Rays.
At the end of nine innings, the Bronx Bombers earned a 5-3 victory over their visitors.

Rizzo is no stranger to referencing Swift during game days. Last summer, Rizzo tapped into Swift’s 2017 hit ‘Ready for It?’ as her way before going 4-4 with a home run in a win over the Royals. His performance ended a bad streak that had plagued him for more than two months up to that point.
“Taylor Swift, it really is her summer,” Rizzo joked in July. “She’s helping the economy in every city she goes to.”
ESPN Pat McAfee was one of the sports personalities who celebrated Swift’s album. On Friday’s edition of the Pat McAfee Show, the host praised Swift and Kelce in light of the album’s release. TTPD also comes just over two months after Kelce captured his third Super Bowl title.
‘If you just woke up this morning, you just heard a new Taylor Swift album. Two albums,” McAfee said. ‘Surprise! I’m touring the world and selling out every stadium on Earth.

‘I’m in the middle of the most public relationship the sport has had in a long, long time. Remember she was changing the results of NFL games and also writing two albums. An absolute workhorse. Travis, we’re happy for you, buddy.
McAfee’s ESPN colleague Stephen A. Smith also praised Swift on
