Israel Adesanya appeared to be involved in a road rage incident after a video emerged of the UFC superstar allegedly spitting towards a fellow driver.

Adesanya, 35, is believed to have returned home to New Zealand after suffering a defeat in his return fight against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth last month.

The Last Stylebender lost his chance to regain his middleweight world title and put his future in the Octagon in doubt after the fight, which he lost via submission.

And three weeks after the fight, images have circulated on social media appearing to show Adesanya arguing with a member of the public.

Adesanya can be seen standing next to his all-black McLaren, with a personalised number plate reading ‘KURAMA’, as he exchanged words with a shorter individual wearing a hoodie and shorts.

The fighter can be heard telling the other man to fuck off before opening the driver’s side door of the supercar.

He then tells his road companion to “get away” and “go drive your rickety piece of shit,” referring to the other man’s car, before calling him a “fucking bitch” as the man flexes his biceps in front of him.

Adesanya then gives the audience member the middle finger and says “fight me, I pray you test me” before spitting towards the man’s feet before slamming his car door shut.

The shooter, who appears to be sitting in a nearby car, walks away as Adesanya closes the car door, so it is unclear what happened next.

It is not known when the apparent incident occurred.

Earlier this year, Adesanya escaped conviction after facing court for drunk driving, having admitted to a drink-driving incident in August 2023.

The New Zealander was stopped by police in Auckland while driving his Bentley shortly before midnight. Officers noticed he showed signs of having been drinking and he told them he had had two cocktails with friends.

Adesanya, a former UFC middleweight champion, had a blood alcohol level of 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.

In New Zealand, the legal limit for drivers over the age of 20 is 50 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.

His reading of 87 mg put him at risk of a maximum jail term of three months or a fine not to exceed $4,500.

But according to Stuff, Adesanya’s lawyer Karl Trotter pleaded with the judge not to send his client to jail, arguing that endorsement deals potentially worth hundreds of thousands of dollars were at stake for the fighter who has taken a brief break from MMA.

“So that’s where we’re at,” said Trotter, who chose not to name any of these potential sponsors.
