Kansas City Chiefs players Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick have been arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
The offensive linemen were booked early Friday morning and were released after posting $2,500 bail, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The charge they both face is a Class A misdemeanor, meaning it could carry a $2,500 fine and the possibility of a year in jail.
Morris won the Super Bowl with the Chiefs earlier this year. The former third-round pick played 14 times last season.
Godrick, however, spent time on the Chiefs’ practice squad and joined the NFL’s International Pathway Player in 2023.

The arrests come at a terrible time for the Chiefs, who have endured a difficult offseason since beating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in February.
Kicker Harrison Butker has been heavily criticized all week for a controversial speech he gave at a Kansas university’s graduation ceremony.
Butker congratulated the women who received degrees in benedictine college and said most of them were probably more excited about getting married and having children.
He also said that some Catholic leaders were “imposing dangerous gender ideologies on America’s youth.”
Butker, whose own mother is an accomplished physicist, also criticized Pride month and President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion.
The controversial speech has sparked a fierce backlash, and a day after his speech, a petition was created to remove the Chiefs kicker from the team’s roster ahead of the 2024 NFL season. To date he has received more than 187,000 signatures.
Wide receiver Rashee Rice was also responsible for a major car accident in Dallas in March and assaulted a photographer outside a nightclub earlier this month.
