Travis Kelce has opened up about how his upbringing prepared him for life in the spotlight as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
Kelce’s profile has skyrocketed since he began dating the pop sensation, whose new album includes songs apparently about the Kansas City Chiefs star.
So far the tight end hasn’t let the romance affect his performance on the field. Last season, he helped the Chiefs win a second straight Super Bowl.
Kelce was recently named the new host of ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity’ and explained how his mother Donna made sure he was ‘comfortable’ with the spotlight.
“I think they were all the home videos my mom used to have on the old handheld camcorder,” he said. ExtraTV.
Travis Kelce believes his upbringing prepared him for life in the spotlight with Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs star’s relationship with Swift has caused his profile to skyrocket
‘I always felt comfortable with the camera and the lights focused on me. And indeed, I love a good challenge: I am excited by challenges.
‘Something I haven’t done before, or something that really makes me focus and be or do something I haven’t done before.’ There’s something about that that I love.”
Kelce and Swift’s relationship blossomed during the 2023 NFL season, but in 2016, the tight end participated in ‘Catching Kelce.’
On the reality show, Kelce dated 50 women, one from each state. Almost a decade later, she is still a regular on our screens in adverts and soon on ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity’.
But the 34-year-old has ruled out starring in Kelce’s version of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians.’
“The reality show is in my past, I don’t think I’ll ever do another one,” the young Kelce insisted.
The Kansas City star has maintained a close relationship with his older brother Jason
‘Oh no, the reality show is in my past, I don’t think I’ll ever do another one,’ he said, laughing.
‘I’ll tell you what, I’m going to have to get out of it. But who knows? Maybe (brother) Jason and (his wife) Kylie will get back to real life.’
Jason, the recently retired Eagles center, documented his 2022 season, when he faced off against Travis in the Super Bowl, for a show on Amazon Prime.
The brothers remain close, and Travis opens up about the importance of having Jason by his side “really my whole life.”
“It started when I was a kid, really understanding the value of family and what it can do for you,” he said.
“He just injected confidence and excitement into my life and I’ve been very fortunate, I’ve been able to follow in his footsteps throughout life, into the world of football and who knows what will happen after that.”
