A traveler claimed she was kicked off a Delta flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Boston, Massachusetts, after she informed airline officials that she had a food allergy.
TikToker Ellie Brellis tearfully told her followers that she had tickets for a flight back to her hometown on Sunday so she could see a doctor the next morning because I’m having really, really bad allergies right now.
He said he recently experienced an allergic reaction, which he described as a “mild anaphylactic shock compared to others I’ve had,” and tried to explain the situation to a flight officer.
“I did everything I was supposed to do to defend myself so I could have a safe flight,” Brellis said in the gate video, which had been viewed more than 79,000 times as of Tuesday night.
But she said an airline worker fired her when she tired of revealing information about her allergy and she was eventually kicked off the plane, even though her bags were still traveling.

“Somehow they kicked me off the plane for having an allergy,” Brellis said, noting that food allergies are considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
“I don’t want to be this person, I don’t want to cry, I just want to be on my flight home so I can see my doctor and find out why this is happening,” she said, before asking if she was to blame for the ordeal.
‘Am I the idiot?’ the TikToker asked. ‘Is this my fault? Shouldn’t I have said I have allergies?
“I don’t know how I’m supposed to be safe,” Brellis said.
In a follow-up video, Brellis said staff rebooked him on a red-eye flight, but he would have to get medical clearance before he could travel.
In a follow-up video, Brellis said he was actually on board the plane when crew members “escorted me off.”
He said he had since been told he had booked a red-eye flight, “but it’s a full flight, so they gave me an aisle seat, but they can’t guarantee any safety or anything.”
Brellis also claimed that Delta officials told her they would have to call Medair and ask her to speak to a doctor who would determine if she was “fit to fly.”

But some online seemed to have sided with the airline.

One TikTok user explained that staff were concerned he might go into anaphylactic shock mid-flight.
Another TikToker said she has airborne nut allergies and should call before her flight to let staff members know.
“I’m sorry you’re going through this,” one person commented on her original video. ‘They were afraid you might suffer anaphylaxis on the plane.
“If there was any exposure, they wouldn’t accept that responsibility.”
Another user said they have allergies to nuts in the air and ‘with Delta, I have to call before my flight to put it on my account each time, ask (a) pre-boarding gate agent, and let (the flight attendants know) ). ‘
