Danish international Hojbjerg made 184 appearances during his four years at Spurs, scoring 10 goals. He previously played for Bayern Munich and Southampton.

However, he had entered the final year of his contract and would therefore have been available to leave on a free transfer in 2025 had an extension not been agreed.

Spurs have strengthened Ange Postecoglou’s midfield this summer with the arrivals of Archie Gray from Leeds and Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens in Sweden.

The club’s statement wished Hojbjerg “all the best for the future.”

Hojbjerg was part of the Denmark squad that was knocked out of Euro 2024 by hosts Germany in the round of 16 and has earned 81 caps for his country to date.
