TLC canceled two shows in the Northeast this weekend after T-Boz experienced health issues.
The band They canceled their Friday night concert at the New York State Fair in Syracuse 30 minutes before the show thinking T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, had a simple case of food poisoning.
“Shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps,” reads a press release from the band.
‘A doctor immediately examined her and took her to the hospital for further evaluation.’
But when doctors examined her, she had an abdominal blockage that caused the band to also cancel its Saturday show at Foxwoods in Connecticut.

“The doctor confirmed that it was not food poisoning, but rather an abdominal obstruction,” the statement continued.
‘Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincerest apologies to all of her fans and the event promoters.
‘The decision to cancel was made on the advice of her doctor, who required her to remain in hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition.’
The No Scrubs singer was still in the hospital on Saturday and was expected to be released on Sunday.
The band is now a duo consisting of T-Boz and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas after the death of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 2002.
The New York State Fair photographer posted the cancellation notice on Instagram.
She captioned it: ‘BREAKING: Possibly the biggest show this year – TLC at @newyorkstatefair is cancelled, announced at 7:30pm, they didn’t make it to afternoon soundcheck either.’
She later added to the post: ‘UPDATE: According to TLC’s official social media, it was not food poisoning, but rather an extended hospital stay for an abdominal blockage.’
