The 47-year-old daytime TV presenter will be one of the judges on ITV1’s new show M&S: Dress the Nation, hosted by AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay.

She will be joined by podcaster Vogue Williams, former Lioness Alex Scott, ex-footballer Ian Wright and fashion guru Bella Freud on the rotating panel, as the retailer embarks on a nationwide search for its next head designer.

Lingerie model Rosie, 37, has worked with Marks and Spencer for the past 13 years, while Football Focus presenter Alex, 39, launched her first campaign, a sportswear collection with the high street giant, last week.

Over the course of six episodes, AJ and Vernon will challenge 10 contestants to test their marketability, business acumen and design talent, with celebrity judges deciding who remains in the competition.

One successful contestant wins the opportunity to work in a coveted in-house design position alongside some of the industry’s most acclaimed designers at Marks and Spencer’s London head office.

M&S has recruited a variety of glamorous celebrities to assist the retailer’s senior leaders and help decide who should progress to the next round each week.

Cat’s role on the judging panel further cements her place in the ITV family following her return to the UK from the US after replacing Holly Willoughby as presenter of This Morning earlier this year.

In March, Cat took over the reins of the show alongside co-star Ben Shephard, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary continue to front the show on Fridays.

One Show’s Alex has expressed his excitement at joining the celebrity panel following his recent collaboration with M&S Activewear.

Alex said: ‘As the new face of M&S sportswear, being part of M&S: Dress the Nation was an amazing opportunity to gain an insight into the creative design process; it was really interesting to see how the contestants approached the challenge.

‘I think my week really pushed the contestants out of their comfort zone with a category some of them had never designed for before – the big challenge was how to address performance and comfort in a design that still felt stylish and fashionable.

“All of the contestants were so talented. I can’t wait to see how their stories unfold.”

Northern duo AJ and Vernon host the fashion contest, which launches on ITV1 later this month.

AJ wore a brown leather shirt and matching miniskirt with cream knee-high boots for filming of the M&S series, while Vernon looked dapper in a navy blazer and trousers.

On her Instagram profile, AJ has modelled pieces from star Sienna Miller’s M&S range, which became an instant hit on the high street.

The presenter will be preparing for a very busy autumn, as the return of the second season of Big Brother is planned, and announcements for the programme are already being made.
