Barbie Ferreira has lost weight in a desperate attempt to ‘reinvent’ herself and ‘revitalise’ her Hollywood career after work began to ‘dry up’ when she left Euphoria, sources close to the show have claimed.
The 27-year-old actress shocked her fans on Monday after showing off her smaller figure in a series of steamy photos on Instagram, leading curious fans to speculate whether she had used Ozempic.
While it is unclear whether she turned to the popular weight loss drug, sources close to the star claimed that she eventually slimmed down to show the world that she is determined to make it big in the industry.
“Since leaving Euphoria, opportunities have been drying up for Barbie and she knew a reinvention was necessary to maintain longevity,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com.

Sources told DailyMail.com that she lost a few pounds to try and land more acting jobs after retiring from her role as Kat Hernandez on the hit HBO show Euphoria (seen as Kat in 2019).
“She lost weight to revitalize her career and better highlight her talents. She has a strong drive to succeed in the industry and is incredibly talented.
‘Doing this performance and showing off her new body was a way of saying, “Hey, this is me now and I’m ready to work.”
“She also wants to be able to play sexy roles and will do whatever it takes to achieve that. Ozempic can offer her a very easy way to achieve that.”
A second source added: ‘She wasn’t actually on Euphoria for long, but from the time she was on set it was clear that her image was important to her.
“Whether he’s done Ozempic or lost weight through other means, he loves all the attention he gets for it. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if he was Ozempic.”
Barbie shared the stunning images of her dramatic weight loss with her 5 million followers on Monday.
In one of the stunning photos, the model appeared without makeup and wore a low-cut cream-colored negligee.
In another photo she showed off her tiny waist in a black leather halterneck top that left her defined waistline exposed.

Fans complimented her on the sexy photos, but some were quick to question whether she was taking Ozempic, the diabetes medication that helps people lose weight.
One follower joked: ‘Rich people have Ozempic and we have body positivity.’
“She’s going back to her Tumblr girl days,” another noted.
A third was angry, writing: ‘This is HER body, HER choices, too bad some people learned to accept themselves by identifying, relating and comparing themselves to her, it’s NOT her responsibility.’
Barbie played high school student Kat in 16 episodes of Euphoria from 2019 until 2022, when she announced on Instagram that she was leaving. Her exit came amid rumors of tensions on the set between her and the show’s creator, Sam Levinson.
She then appeared in an episode of Robot Chicken in 2022 and then landed the role of Nessie in the film Nope. Earlier this year she starred in the comedy-drama film Bob Trevino Likes It.
She was recently announced as the lead in the upcoming romantic comedy Mile End Kicks.
