The mother of Israeli hostage Naama Levy has written “I speak to you in my heart every day” in a heartbreaking letter to her daughter on her 20th birthday in captivity.
Ayelet Levy Shachar, 50, wrote that she “can’t stop seeing” graphic images of the “monster” dragging Naama by her hair and forcing her into a car on October 7.
Those images were the most harrowing of the Hamas terrorist attack that sparked global outrage, but 260 days later, 120 hostages remain in Gaza.
Dr. Levy Shachar wrote in an open letter to his daughter in the New York Post: ‘My Naamonet, I speak to you in my heart every day. Can you hear me?
‘When I close my eyes, I see you in front of me smiling. You see me? Every day I sit with my thoughts and am overcome with indescribable anguish and pain. I wonder how we got to this point? And today that pain is even more acute.”

On Saturday night, Dr. Levy Shachar led thousands of people through the streets of Tel Aviv holding giant posters of his daughter and balloons to mark her birthday.
The procession was both uplifting and heartbreaking as the crowd sang in unison: ‘Nothing is more important than bringing Naama home.
‘This is the right time to bring her home. He accepts the deal to bring her home.
‘Without Naama this country is not complete.
A special protest march was held in Tel Aviv to mark the 20th birthday of hostage Naama Levy.
On Saturday night, Dr. Levy Shachar led thousands of people through the streets of Tel Aviv holding giant posters of his daughter and balloons to mark her birthday.

The procession marched to Hostage Square, where Naama’s classmates gave speeches and performed her favorite song, Cover Me In Sunshine by P!nk.

Although a ceasefire agreement still seems distant, two weeks ago the special forces managed to rescue four hostages, including Noa Argamani, 26 years old.
Naama’s father Yoni Levy, 52, told the Daily Mail that they took strength from the fact that those freed had seen people fighting for them on the news in captivity.
The engineer said, ‘That’s why we have all these media and all these signs and posters.
“Today you’ll know it’s your birthday and maybe, just maybe, there’s a chance you’ll see this.”
‘Even if it’s just one percent, that’s enough to do it, to give you hope and optimism.
‘There was a lot of love, energy and hope in that march. We will send this to her on her birthday.
“I hope that somehow she gets something out of this, that it gives her the strength to continue and be strong.”

Cupcakes with birthday candles were then passed out to the crowd and balloons were released as they were lit.

Protesters carried banners with photographs of Naama and a ’20’ plastered across the top to mark the Israeli hostage’s birthday on Saturday.
Her loved ones also completed a mandala sketch after learning that Naama has been drawing the geometric shapes in captivity.
When asked what her message to Naama would be if she could hear it, Levy turned to her daughter and said, “First of all, we’re sorry.” I’m sorry it took so long.
‘But on the other side I want to give you the energy. To give you the energy that with your wisdom you can continue and survive-continue and fight.
Protesters at Saturday’s march held signs of other hostages who were taken to Gaza, including 19-year-old Oz Daniel.
Distress: Thousands gathered to join in their call for a hostage exchange deal with Gaza and the ouster of the Benjamin Netanyahu-led government.
‘Don’t break down. We are here doing everything we can to finish this and bring him back to us.
“So please continue fighting.”
Naama’s brothers Amit, 21, and Omri, 11, as well as her sister Michal, 16, were also at the rally.
Horrifying footage was released last month showing the moment Naama was captured along with four other teenage girls.
She was on mandatory national service as an unarmed IDF observer alongside Liri Albag, 19, Daniela Gilboa, 20, Karina Ariev, 19, and Agam Berger, 19, on October 7.
Each of their mothers made the harrowing decision to release the horrifying three-minute Hamas Go Pro video in a desperate attempt to get politicians to fight for them.
It shows the young women limping, injured and bloody with their hands tied. They are lined up against the wall by Palestinian terrorists who were taken from the Nahal Oz base during their mandatory National Service as unarmed observers.
“Dogs, we will step on you.” one yells at the girls. Another of the terrorists is seen pointing at the girls calling them ‘Sabaya’, an ancient Islamic term that can mean sex slave, before looking at Karina in her snoopy pajamas and saying: ‘You are so beautiful.’
The shocking images sparked renewed efforts to reach a hostage deal, but Hamas rejected the proposal.
