The Bachelorette's historic season 21 premiere was plagued by audio issues

The historic season 21 premiere of The Bachelorette, which introduced Jenn Tran as the first Asian-American lead, was thrown into chaos Monday night when audio issues left frustrated viewers unable to hear dialogue.

When the 26-year-old medical assistant from Hillsdale, New Jersey, made her long-awaited debut, fans flocked to social media to complain that they could only hear background music and nothing Jenn was saying.

All major streaming platforms appear to have been affected, with issues reported on YouTube TV, the ABC app, Fubo and Hulu.

Social media was filled with complaints, with many begging ABC to “fix” the issue at hand.

“Hey Bachelorette, I’m watching from Denver, Colorado on Hulu TV,” one fan wrote on X. “There is no audio for the dialogue. We can hear the background music and conversations during the commercials. But there is no dialogue from the show. What’s up?”

A third said: “Anyone else watching The Bachelorette on YouTube TV and it’s just showing the background sound, no vocals?”

‘MY BACHELORETTE PARTY HAS NO SOUND WHAT DO I DO?’ posted a fourth.

A fifth pleaded: “Fix it @ABC! The Bachelorette has no audio! Only music on all platforms.”

On Reddit, another said: “Anyone else have no sound and just hear the annoying background music? I’m watching the first episode of the season on ABC at airtime.”

DailyMail.com has contacted ABC for comment.

The two-hour premiere of The Bachelorette began ominously with Jenn in a white dress on a beach telling someone, “I can’t let you propose to me.”

Jenn was then shown placing what appeared to be the last rose on a small table and walking away.

“Are you okay with whatever’s going to happen here?” host Jesse Palmer, 45, asked.

Jenn nodded and then a clip showed her walking down a hallway, knocking on a door and then entering.

The show then cut to the bachelorette in Boston performing.

“I can’t even believe this is real,” she enthused in her confessional.

‘I recognize that going on The Bachelorette to find love is not the traditional way to find it, but first of all I’m not a traditional girl.’

She reflected on competing on season 28 of The Bachelor, starring Joey Graziadei, 29, and said she was heartbroken but her family supported her and lifted her spirits.

“Family means a lot to me,” he said. “My mother immigrated here from Vietnam to give me a better future. I love her so much and I know how much she loves me.”

In her introduction, Jenn said, 'I recognize that going on The Bachelorette to find love is not the traditional way to find love, but I'm not a traditional girl in the first place.'

At the end of the episode, Jenn chose contractor Sam McKinney, 27, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to get the coveted First Impression rose.

Sam asked her how she was feeling and Jenn admitted she was nervous.

“I don’t know,” she said. “I feel like something happened there and I can’t stop thinking about you all night.”

“And I don’t always, you know, pick the right men, but there’s something inside me that tells me that, you know, there’s something here, and I’m really excited about it.

“I’m really excited to get to know you a lot more. I can’t stop thinking about you, so I’m excited about it. Um, Sam, will you accept this rose?”

“Of course,” Sam said as he accepted the telltale flower that usually indicates an extended stay during the season.

In her confessional, Jenn said that Sam had an “energy” that she loved.

“It’s here,” she said. “It’s the moment I’ve been waiting for all night and I feel like kissing him. So I’m going to do it.”
