Taylor Swift has confirmed that her lockdown album Folklore was inspired by Ireland's 'narrative'

Taylor Swift has confirmed that her lockdown album Folklore was inspired by Irish “storytelling”.

The singer, 34, took to the stage for her second show of the Eras Tour in Dublin on Saturday and sent her fans into a frenzy by declaring that the album “belongs to them”.

Taylor released her eighth album in July 2020, and during her latest preoccupation, she told the crowd that she started writing songs for folklore just two days into the Covid shutdown.

“Folklore in general belongs to Ireland,” he said, adding: How I imagined the world of the album would look like (it was like) Ireland. Narration with many different characters. You guys have that under lock and key too. That narrative is very Irish.

“I had to create an album where the imaginary world I was pretending to go to every day while I was writing it… I have to be honest, it felt like Ireland.”

“So we’re going back to where we belong. Folklore belongs to you guys!”

The moment, which drew huge cheers from their Irish fans in attendance, was captured by a spectator who was present at the Aviva Stadium and posted the moment on X.

Taylor has also shown her love for the Emerald Isle by wearing not one but two green outfits for different eras of the show.

Her first homage look was a forest green caped dress adorned with leaves and a cutout at the midriff, which she wore for Folklore.

Later in the show, for her 1989 era, Taylor once again sported the country’s colors while wearing a jeweled orange bralet and an ombre green skirt.

The surprise seems to delight the fans, especially his Irish followers.

On X, formerly Twitter, Taylor fans said: ‘The folk green dress is so Irish of her!’; ‘The supremacy of the green dress’;

‘Green folklore costume for Ireland kills Taylor’ and ‘Folklore is so codified in Ireland’.
