Taylor Swift cheers on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs at Super Bowl LVIII

Radio host Chris Russo took aim at CBS for the amount of coverage of Taylor Swift on its Super Bowl LVIII broadcast.

The pop star was at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs as they sealed back-to-back Super Bowl victories with a 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The 14-time Grammy winner has attended several of the tight end’s NFL games – 13 in particular, her lucky number – and has periodically attracted attention online, which has shown images of her watching him from her VIP suites.

But Russo seemed to believe CBS went too far during its broadcast of the big game.

“They went overboard yesterday,” Russo said, via Awful Anusing.

‘I mean, I don’t care if it’s just a split second. They must have gone to that suite for Taylor Swift 9,000 times, very exaggerated. And I’m not one of those… Listen, I think it’s too much. I do not like it that much. I think it’s a loving relationship, and I don’t think it’s fake; I like.

‘I have seen him again in the field; I think there is a future there, but they followed their path too many times. I didn’t count the number of shots fired at that suite; There had to be 10 or 12 during the course of the game.’

However, although Russo felt it was a stretch, CBS actually only showed a total of 54 seconds, less than one percent of the entire time the game was on.

Despite Swift’s minimal broadcast occupancy, Russo, 64, still claimed it was excessive.

‘It’s very exaggerated… It’s not so much the length; it just goes to (his suite),’ Russo continued.

‘All you have to do is go there for a second. And if you only go there for 38 seconds, that means you can still do it 25 times; each time is a second and a half. ‘Hey, there she is! There she is! Kelce caught a ball; There she is. The bosses drive; There she is. She crossed her fingers; There she is! I mean, it was too much.

The singer has been praised for her effect on the NFL, particularly for attracting more female spectators to games.

But Russo, while acknowledging Swift’s appeal to a new demographic of soccer fans, suggested she was detracting from the sport’s original audience.

‘Listen, I know she’s a big superstar. The New York Post put it… on the front page, ‘Welcome to Sin City,’ with Taylor Swift on the cover, all among the participants of Super Bowl 58. So, you can argue that they are guilty too. ‘ he said.

“But this is CBS, and I understand that you have to show a little Taylor Swift, but they want to go overboard.” That’s my opinion. Now, you may feel different, and if you are a 13 year old girl, or my daughter, who cares; You can’t get enough of this.

‘Thirteen-year-olds, 14- and 17-year-olds, and 23-year-olds like Kiera Russo aren’t football fans, they’re Taylor Swift fans. “This is supposed to be a football crowd, and it was very, very exaggerated.”

Swift attended 13 Chiefs games this season, and Kansas City went 10-3 in those games.
