Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac has shared a touching tribute to his fiancée Rebecca James and their newborn daughter.
The Channel Seven star, 42, penned a lengthy poem for his growing family after welcoming his second child, a girl named Mabel, with Bec on Thursday.
Sharing an intimate photo of Rebecca breastfeeding the couple’s new family member via Instagram on Friday, Sam wrote: “This is my darling Rebecca minutes after giving birth.”
“My girls are sleeping so I’ve had time to gather my thoughts and start to process how lucky I am. I wrote this little piece as a tribute to Rebecca and all the amazing moms out there. We love you and would be nothing without you…”
‘Dear Mabel, you will read this one day, when the time is right. But I want you to know what happened that night.
‘Your mother was stretched, poked and prodded. Ropes were put on her and injections were given, but your mother just nodded.
‘She held my hand as she kept going and going. Your mother was calm, your mother was strong.
“Your mother stopped talking, she didn’t say a word. Your mother gave up on that hospital bed.”

“She gave up her body, that’s what she had to do. Your mother did it so we could meet you,” Sam continued as she recounted the birth from her perspective.
‘Pushing and breathing in long sighs. Your mother began to speak with her eyes.
“His eyes spoke of pain, his eyes spoke of love. His eyes said we had waited long enough.
“There you were, our sweet little girl. With a very soft cry you came into the world.
‘You were perfection, it was love at first sight. But I want you to know what happened that night.
“Now and always we will take care of each other. I just need you to know the strength of your Mother.”

The TV personality took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm the joyous baby news, sharing a heartwarming image of her cradling her newborn and revealing her name: Mabel August McMillan.
Sam welcomed his daughter on Wednesday night after announcing Rebecca’s pregnancy in February.
Her announcement post was filled with hundreds of likes, well wishes and congratulations from friends, family and fans.
“You all look incredibly fresh. Enjoy this beautiful moment,” wrote Channel Seven colleague Edwina Bartholomew.

Sam and Rebecca announced they were expecting a baby in February, but kept the sex of their child private.
Excited by the news, he wrote: ‘Baby Mac’ (the sequel) is coming out in August 2024. Starring Margot as the older sister #MacDaddy #Round2.
Sam announced in December 2023 that the couple were getting married.
At the time, Sam had shared the good news on Instagram along with a photo of Rebecca showing off her diamond engagement ring.
Giving a sneak peek of the proposal, the host wrote in the caption: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, my fiancée! She said yes.
“My secret 2023 New Year’s resolution was to propose to my darling Rebecca sometime this year. So I guess this is what you’d call a wise decision.”
“She’s calm, strong and unintentionally funny. She’s very intelligent and a real beauty. She makes me a better man.”
He continued: ‘Early this morning, in front of her parents and brother… I told her that I’m in love with every version of her and asked her to be mine forever, she said yes.’
“There were tears, laughter and a Ghillie suit… but that’s a story for another day.”
‘It’s only been eight hours but I’ve already referred to her as MY FIANCEE 74 times.’
“It’s loud, proud and almost obnoxious, but it feels right. Thank you @rebeccajames_stylist for bringing magic into my life, now let’s plan a wedding!”
Sam welcomed his daughter on Wednesday night after announcing Rebecca’s pregnancy in February. The couple also have a daughter, Margot, who was born in 2022.
In a caption, the Sunrise weatherman announced the baby’s due date and confirmed that her second child, whose gender has not yet been revealed, is due in August.

Announcing the happy news at the time, Sam wrote: “This is a love I didn’t even know existed. I’m overwhelmed and still processing it all right now. My girls. Wow!”
In December, Sam returned to TV screens after taking a month-long break from his role on the show to focus on full-time fatherhood.
The presenter announced that he was stepping away from his on-air duties a month earlier because he was taking paternity leave.
Sam made the decision to allow her fellow stylist, Rebecca, to return to work for the first time since giving birth a year earlier.
In an interview with New Idea magazine, Sam praised Sunrise for their support and said he was “very grateful” for the opportunity to take time off for his family.
‘I worry that I’m one of those parents who is too busy with work to fully experience all of life’s milestones with my child.’
“I love my job, but I’m often away from home. I’m already realizing what I miss in Margot’s development,” Sam admitted.
Sam announced in December 2023 that the couple would be getting married.
