Stephanie Rice has confirmed she is single following her split from former soldier Dane Christison.
In a video posted to her Instagram page on Friday, the Olympic swimmer said she is “happy” following the breakup.
“When I moved, I really wanted to share a lot more of the trip with you in real time,” the 35-year-old began.
‘I was just going through the deepest healing. I was in a really challenging relationship at the time, when we broke up I felt like the peace of God was upon me. I felt free. I felt happy,’ he added.
Stephanie said her new life in Dubai, where she moved in November 2023, has taken a weight off her shoulders.

Stephanie deleted images of her boyfriend from her Instagram page in March and hadn’t mentioned him in a few weeks.
In a recent post on the platform, Stephanie detailed her upcoming plans, again without mentioning Dane.
‘Back in Australia for a packed two weeks! “It’s been such a blessing to be back here to see my friends and family and move forward on some exciting work commitments,” she wrote in the caption of her photo alongside a series of images.
‘I was asked to speak last week at a Christian charity event and will have another talk even later in my trip, along with a photoshoot for a new brand partner, which is really very exciting. I had 10 days between those commitments, so I thought, why not take another intensive MBA course? “We are going to try hard and do everything,” she added.
‘I was in a really challenging relationship at the time, when we broke up I felt like God’s peace was upon me. I felt free. “I felt happy,” he said.
‘I love it though. I love the intensity, the pressure and the concentration… it really brings out the best in me. “I am looking forward to returning to Dubai soon, but this trip to Australia has been rewarding in many ways.”
The post led fans to ask about her boyfriend’s absence.
‘Have you broken up with your man, we haven’t seen anything with him since you’ve been in town?’ one person asked in the comments.
“That’s what I was wondering too,” another agreed, while one more said, “Yeah, and she didn’t mention it in her schedule.”
Late last year, Rice shared a series of loved-up photos of herself and Christison, 41, on Instagram from New York, telling her followers that the couple met through a church connection.

‘I never would have expected the year to end this way!!’ Rice wrote in an Instagram post.
‘Giving my life to God, following his calling to move my life to Dubai, meeting you in my first week at church in Brisbane and spending our first Christmas together in New York.
‘I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for this. You just have to keep faith in his plan and in his timing.
“God is so good and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for 2024.”
Rice also shared videos on her Instagram Stories showing her vacation in the United States, including a road trip and a train ride through Colorado’s scenic Rocky Mountains.
Another video showed the couple driving a car together while listening to worship music.
Christison previously served in East Timor (Timor-Leste) and Iraq.
He now runs a company called Survive to Thrive Nation that trains current and former service personnel on how to successfully transition back to civilian life.
“We are training people to go to war, but not to come home,” he said in an SBS Viceland documentary.
