Skins star Megan Prescott has revealed how she started using Onlyfans, which she is using to fund her show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year.

The actress, 32, explained how she has been using the X-rated platform since 2020, after her boss initially refused to fire her from her bar job.

Speaking to The Sun, Megan opened up about how she is stripping off in her one-woman show, Really Good Exposure, where she will be front-facing during a scene.

Megan said that funding the show is “very expensive,” so she has been “selling nude photos to some subscribers because you shouldn’t be ashamed of being naked.”

When the pandemic hit, Megan was working at a distillery in London on a zero-hours contract and her manager “refused to give her leave for a while.”

She explained that with only around £300 in the bank she needed to find a way to pay the rent, when her friend Haven, co-host of the Strippers In The Attic podcast, suggested Onlyfans as a way to earn an income.

She continues: “She told me, ‘Believe me, there are already men who look at your Instagram and have those kinds of thoughts. You’re leaving money on the table,” and she was right.

Megan claimed that joining the site changed her life and called it the best thing she had ever done, earning her much more than her acting roles.

Megan previously revealed she will sell her ‘front-on, naked from head to toe’ photos on the X-rated subscription site as the work challenges the stigma sex workers face.

Megan, who pursued a bodybuilding career in 2016, is a strong supporter of sex workers’ rights and first signed up to Onlyfans during the pandemic to allow her acting, writing and directing career to continue.

In a nod to the show that made her famous, Megan decided to pay homage to one of her most iconic Skins images, but this time posing completely naked.

Only 10 of this limited edition nude snapshot will be sold on the platform to raise money.

Megan’s one-woman show is partially inspired by her own personal experience of child stardom.

The play follows the story of Molly Thomas, a former child star whose fame peaked in her teens; Audiences will meet her for the first time later, when she realizes that her career has never matched the dizzying heights of her initial fame.

On the verge of 30, Molly looks to the adult industry as a way to keep food on the table when acting work continually doesn’t pay the bills. But will the stigma that comes with sex work be too difficult to handle?

The show comes after Megan revealed she was diagnosed with autism last year.

The Skins star took to Instagram last April, where she got candid about her experience in a lengthy post.

She admitted that pretending to be neurotypical left her “exhausted, anxious and depressed,” and called for more conversations about women with autism.

Megan insisted autism is “not a superpower” but could be a “gift” if the world was more accessible to neurodiverse people.

Megan wrote: ‘In December 2021 I was diagnosed with autism. Since then, I’ve slowly gotten comfortable explaining this to people I know, but I was nervous to say anything here about it because of how misunderstood autism in women is by most people.

‘There are still members of my family who I haven’t told about my diagnosis because I know the response will be quite upsetting.

“When I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago, telling people wasn’t as stressful as telling everyone that I’m autistic, and I think because even though ADHD in women is still misunderstood, at least it’s starting to become more common.” a decent amount of resources available for people to learn more about it. The same can’t be said for autism in women.

“When I tell people I’m autistic, the response I most often get is something like, ‘Well, everyone is a little bit on the spectrum,’ which, while it might be well-intentioned, is a pretty response. Fuck someone who tells you they are autistic.

“First of all, that response sounds like you’re trying to comfort the autistic person by saying ‘don’t feel bad, we’re all a little bit like that,’ implying that autism is not only a bad thing, but also completely invalidating. the struggles that that autistic person may have experienced throughout their life.’

Megan explained how some people downplay her diagnosis as if it’s “no big deal because it’s something that everyone experiences and you’re just not that good at dealing with it.”

He continued: “Autism is not a ‘superpower’ either.” We live in a society built from the ground up for people with neurotypical brains.

‘I think autism COULD be a ‘gift’ IF the world we live in was made accessible to neurodiverse people.

“However, almost all of the social structures, systems and ‘rules’ we live in have been created by and for neurotypical people and do not take into account the vast differences in how neurodiverse minds function.”

The actress expressed her hope that there would be “more conversations about autism in women” and explained that most of the “diagnostic criteria involved in assessing autism are based on research conducted exclusively on men.”

Megan concluded: ‘In true style, I will of course talk about this A LOT; partly because I’m incredibly selfish, but also because there is such a lack of information and support for autistic women and I would like to at least do my bit.’
