Shannen Doherty has opened up about her previous relationships and how she handles dating when she feels there is an “expiry date”.
The 53-year-old actress, who is battling stage four brain cancer, appeared in Let’s talk off-camera about SiriusXM with Kelly Ripa: Admitting that finding love has heartbreaking barriers.
“I think, in my personal opinion, it’s hard for someone like me, because it’s hard to date someone when you know they might have an expiration date,” the Charmed actress told Ripa.
She continued: “I believe that and I don’t think men handle death and illness, most men, I don’t want to generalize and say all men, but they don’t handle any of that as well as women, so I believe that I am very difficult to sell.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star also opened up about her past relationships, including her romance with poker player Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003, and said that despite their split they are “very good friends.”

The actress said she wasn’t sure where she was with dating and was still recovering from her traumatic breakup with her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, after he allegedly cheated on her before she underwent brain surgery.
Doherty recently doubled down on claims that Alyssa Milano got her fired from Charmed in 2001, after the actress denied the allegations.
“I don’t think I’ll be single forever,” she said. Doherty is seen with her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko, from whom she split in January.

She filed for divorce from her husband of 49 years, Kurt Iswarienko, after 11 years of marriage in April 2023.
“It’s still very hard and raw and I was really in a very dark place for nine months after I found out what he did,” she admitted. “It was a complete fiasco, until recently I fully recovered.”
When asked if she would date Salomon or Weiss again, Doherty responded with a firm no.
‘I don’t like going back. I like to keep going,’ she said simply.
“Those two guys are the ones who are still very active in my life, who I talk to and who I admire,” the actress and podcast host added.
Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh on the television series Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1990 to 1994 before being fired from the show, previously spoke about her experience.

Doherty said that working on Charmed was one of her “absolutely favorite work experiences.”
Doherty, who previously claimed that former co-star Alyssa Milano fired her from her other hit show Charmed, added that she would have stayed on that show until the “bitter end.”
‘It was by far one of my favorite work experiences. I loved my character. I loved, you know, the writers. My crew was my heart. I loved every detail of that show,” she gushed.
First diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, the Charmed alum underwent a one-time mastectomy in May 2016. It was followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments.
In 2017, Doherty announced that his cancer was in remission. But in February 2020, she revealed that the cancer had returned in 2019 and that she was at stage four. Last year, Doherty announced that her cancer had spread to the brain.
She gave an update on their condition and admitted that they are “basically the same.”
“It’s like being a guinea pig in a wheel,” Doherty explained.
“You know, you keep spinning the wheel and you hope your protocol lasts a long time and you get the most out of it, but inevitably, one protocol will stop working and then you’ll have to move on to the next one. And then when you move on to the next, there’s a whole new set of things you deal with.’
He added that his current treatment was “probably one of the hardest physically.”
