Just over a week after Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter took the country music world by storm, four of her collaborators performed at the 2024 CMA Music Awards.

Singers Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts and Brittney Spencer took the stage at the Moody Center in Austin to perform at Sunday’s ceremony.

However, although many fans were convinced that Beyonce herself would perform at the CMA Awards, she did not show up.

Adell, Kennedy, Roberts and Spencer, who were part of CMT’s Next Women of Country initiative, took the stage to present Video Duo/Group of the Year.

Spencer started: ‘Austin, you look so sexy! Oh my God,” as the crowd applauded, before continuing.

“As country singers, we live and breathe this music and we are proud to be a part of this night and this moment,” he added.

Kennedy added, “When artists come together, making music feels magical,” while Adell continued, “And it’s hard to describe that feeling of coming together with each other in a song.”

Roberts continued, “But these duo/group video of the year nominated artists know that feeling all too well.”

Duo/Group Video of the Year went to Dan + Shay for their video Save Me the Trouble.

The video beat Brothers Osborne’s Nobody’s Nobody, Old Dominion’s Memory Lane, Parmalee’s Girl in Mine, The War and Treaty’s Have You a Heart, and Tigerlily Gold’s Shoot Tequila.

The four singers perform alongside Beyoncé on her cover of The Beatles’ 1965 ballad Blackbird.

Adell also sings the opening song American Requiem, and Kennedy, Roberts and Spencer also sing harmonies on another song, Tyrant.

While Queen Bey did not appear at the CMT Awards, she sent a message to the industry last week by accepting the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Awards on Monday night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

‘Innovation begins with a dream, but then you have to execute it and the road can be very bumpy. Being innovative is seeing what everyone believes is impossible.

‘Being an innovator often means being criticized, which will often test your mental fortitude. Being innovative is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you and guide you,” she stated.

Adell was part of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2024, which was announced in January.

She was part of a class that also included Anne Wilson, Denitia, Ella Langley, Emily Ann Roberts, HunterGirl, Karley Scott Collins, Kylie Frey, Lauren Watkins, Madeline Merlo, Mae Estes, The Castellows, Tigirlily Gold and Twinnie.
