On Tuesday, a Lufthansa Airlines Boeing 747 was forced to abort its landing after bouncing violently off the runway twice.

A heart-stopping video captured the dramatic moment when a Lufthansa Airlines Boeing 747 bounced violently off the LAX runway before aborting the landing.

On Tuesday, the 747-8i, Boeing’s largest ‘Jumbo Jet’, was attempting to land at Los Angeles Airport, but the plane hit the runway hard and bounced twice, forcing the pilot to abort.

The terrifying moment was documented on a livestream by Airline Videos Live, a group of aircraft enthusiasts “dedicated to bringing high-quality videos” of commercial aviation “to viewers around the world.”

In the video, Lufthansa Flight 456, which took off from Frankfurt, Germany, could be seen sliding onto the runway with its landing gear extended.

Kevin Ray, owner of Airline Videos Live, said the landing was the “hardest” he had ever caught on video.

Everything seemed to be going well until the plane’s rear wheels touched the ground, at which point a cloud of white smoke billowed from the wheels.

The plane then rose sharply and its wheels floated above the ground for a few meters.

The plane fell again and this time the front and rear wheels made contact with the runway.

But as soon as the wheels touched the ground, the plane, which can seat 400 passengers and crew, bounced upward.

After the second failed landing, the pilot decided to abort and the video showed the plane ascending into the sky.

As the plane bounced on the runway, Kevin Ray, the website’s owner and chief commentator, shouted, “Holy crap!”

“I think that’s the roughest landing we’ve seen on our broadcast,” Ray said, later adding that they could “smell” the burning rubber on the wheels.

Lufthansa Flight 456 circled around the airport and landed safely a short time later.

At the moment, it is unclear whether this incident was the result of some malfunction of the 9-year-old Boeing plane or whether it was caused by something else.

Earlier this week there was another crash landing of a Boeing plane at an airport in South Africa.

Moments after takeoff, a Boeing 737 plane lost a wheel and the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.

Security staff at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, noticed that the FlySafair plane had damaged its landing gear during takeoff on April 21.

After receiving the order to return, the pilots made a low pass over the runway so engineers could inspect the damage.

They discovered that one of the four rear wheels had been sheared during takeoff and ordered the plane to descend. But video footage of the landing shows the wheel disintegrating as the plane attempted to taxi down the runway.

The clip shows flight FA212 with smoke coming from the damaged wheel.

Seconds later, there was a large bang and parts of the wheel flew off as the landing gear collapsed, causing the plane to tilt onto its port (left) wing as it came to rest toward the end of the footage.

Miraculously, no one was injured in the drama, local media reported, and the passengers were evacuated and offered another flight.

The two incidents are just the latest involving Boeing, whose reputation was severely tarnished after a near-fatal crash earlier this year.

The company has been in crisis mode since a door plug panel exploded on a 737 Max plane during an Alaska Airlines flight in January, as seen here.

On January 5, an Alaska Airlines flight was forced to perform an emergency maneuver after an emergency exit door on a Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft blew off mid-flight.

In the wake of the crash, about 171 planes in the company’s fleet were grounded pending safety investigations and the Federal Aviation Administration limited production of the plane.

Around $30 billion of market value disappeared in a matter of days, while share prices have since fallen 25 percent.

Boeing has also had to pay $160 million to Alaska Airlines in ‘initial compensation’ due to the grounding and passengers on the plane have filed lawsuits, while the US Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation.
