Ruth Jones has revealed how she is teasing Gavin and Stacey fans by telling them the final episode of the heartwarming comedy will feature a shocking death.

The show’s creators Ruth and James Corden secretly met to write the final episode after denying that a special was in the works.
Now talking about co-star Rob Brydon Podcast The actress, 57, said she was constantly harassed by fans after the announcement, desperate to know what happens in the finale.
Currently starring in the West End musical Sister Act, she said: “A couple of people at the stage door say, ‘What’s going to happen?’ Is Smithy going to say yes?”

Now speaking on her co-star Rob Brydon’s podcast, the actress, 57, told how fans constantly hounded her after the announcement, desperate to know what happens in the finale.
At the climax of the final Christmas 2019 episode, Nessa (Ruth) got down on one knee to propose to Smithy (James), but viewers never got to hear her response.
Ruth went on to say that despite telling fans that they may regret spoiling the surprise, fans continue to beg.
She laughed: ‘So I said (jokingly) “there’s going to be a helicopter crash, most of the cast is going to die” and I just make things up!’
It comes after Joanna Page said she believes the upcoming Christmas episode will be the last time she plays her iconic character.
The Welsh actress, 47, said on her podcast off the tv podcast, which she hosts with Natalie Cassidy, who believes it will “100 percent” be her last time as Stacey.
“I mean there are so many things they could do, right?” Joanna said, as she admitted that she didn’t know what was in store for the characters.
The Christmas special will take place five years after the last special and 17 years after the show’s first episode, which aired in 2007.
Of the time since that first episode, Joanna added: “I’m older now than Mel (Melanie Walters) played Gwen in the first series.”

It was previously reported that a new episode of Gavin And Stacey was in the works, but Ruth Jones denied this, saying: “Unfortunately it’s a rumour.”
In May, Ruth and James took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of themselves holding the script.
Along with the post, they wrote: ‘Some news… It’s official! We’ve finished writing the latest episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James!’
Fans expressed their joy at the news on James and Ruth’s post. Among those who shared his joy was Rio Ferdinand, who wrote: “I am cleaning the diary.”

Joanna Page, who plays Stacey, shared the photo of James and Ruth on her Instagram and wrote: ‘OMG it’s happening! Very excited! The latest Gavin and Stacey! Christmas Day @bbcone Can’t wait to start filming!’
