Pearl Jam were forced to cancel their London concert just hours before their performance after one of their band members fell ill.

The 90s rock band were due to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday but left fans devastated after they announced the gig would no longer take place.

In a last-minute announcement on social media on Friday, the band shared that they “couldn’t be more disappointed” but that “there was no other option.”

Fans shared their anger over the cancellation of the concert, saying they would lose money after having paid for travel and accommodation.

A statement on X, formerly Twitter, read: ‘Pearl Jam’s concert scheduled for Saturday 29th June at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London has sadly been cancelled due to illness within the band.

‘This decision was the last thing we wanted to have to make, especially since we know many of you made travel plans based on the tour schedule. There was simply no other option based on our current health and also the need to prevent further damage.

‘We couldn’t be more disappointed to not be able to play one of our favorite cities on this tour. Despite all efforts, it was not possible to reschedule the concert due to existing scheduling commitments.

“We are deeply grateful for your support and sincerely apologize to the incredible Pearl Jam community for the inconvenience and disappointment.

‘Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.’

Pearl Jam consists of founding members Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, plus Matt Cameron, who joined in 1998. Keyboardist Boom Gaspar has also been a touring/session member of the band since 2002.

The band’s fans wished the band member the best, but expressed their displeasure at losing money.

Picking up in the comments below the ad, they wrote: ‘…Eddie’s voice sounded rough…get well soon…’;

“I’m devastated, but the most important thing is that you get well soon.” “I’m devastated. I sold out of this Green Day concert. Get well soon, Eddie.”

In May, Bradley Cooper was seen jumping on stage and performing with rock band Pearl Jam. at the Napa Valley Expo in California.

Bradley joined frontman Eddie Vedder, who inspired his character Jackson Maine in his 2018 film A Star Is Born, for an acoustic rendition of Maybe It’s Time, according to a Rolling Stone report.
