Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Porsha Williams has scored a major legal victory in her ongoing divorce from Simon Guobadia just a month after being left heartbroken by the death of a young family member.
In the latest ruling in the case, the court granted the 42-year-old reality star’s request to “quash” her 60-year-old ex’s subpoena and request for a videotaped deposition from her employer, True Entertainment, along with a motion for a protective order under People on Friday.
Additionally, a judge also denied Simon’s emergency motions regarding discovery and awarded Simon Porsha’s attorney fees for the litigation, which will need to be paid since the filing also relates to their prenuptial agreement.
Simon “argues that the wife’s desire to return to reality television or employment in the future constitutes a nondisclosure of material facts and a misrepresentation, rendering the prenuptial agreement unenforceable,” according to documents obtained by the weekly.
He also claimed that Porsha had agreed to be a housewife and wife during their marriage and even gave up her own career, which the court found invalid.

According to People, the court found “no merit” in his argument “because the Court considers that the Wife has been a television celebrity for years, something that the Husband was well aware of at the time of negotiating the prenuptial agreement, and yet the Husband married the Wife with this knowledge.”
The couple’s prenuptial agreement states that its “central goal… is to avoid contentious and costly litigation, including the costly and potentially intrusive discovery process, if a Dissolution Event occurs.”
Now, the judge’s ruling says the court finds that “it is not disputed by either party that the prenuptial agreement at issue in this case was negotiated by the parties with highly competent attorneys over a year, and included the exchange of financial information, such that the issues of fraud, mistake, misrepresentation and duress are clearly addressed in multiple provisions of the prenuptial agreement.
‘In essence, the core of the husband’s argument could have been explicitly contained in the four corners of the parties’ prenuptial agreement, and it was not.’
This is considered a huge win for Porsha as she is now in the final step of the divorce process and as the couple’s prenuptial agreement is upheld by the court, her ex will award her legal fees, so she will walk away single.
People reports that the documents specify that “delivering, making or attempting to deliver or make any discovery, whether to/on the other Party or to/on any third party, including” written discovery, taking depositions, and issuing subpoenas violates the prenuptial agreement. Porsha challenged Simon’s actions and the court ruled in her favor.
Following the news of their separation, revealed in court documents obtained by People On Thursday, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star took the time to acknowledge the supportive messages and comments she’s received from her fans.

“Thank you for your prayers and support (broken heart emoji),” she captioned a post she shared with her more than 7.6 million followers on Instagram.
Within seven hours, it received 109,925 likes and thousands of supportive comments, including one from her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey.
Moore, 53, commented with three prayer emojis.
The end of Williams and Guobadia’s relationship comes amid allegations of fraud and possible deportation for Simon, a Nigerian businessman who has been living in the United States for more than 40 years.
A source told the outlet that the decision to part ways, currently classified as an “ongoing matter,” is not related to recent allegations involving Simon’s past.
Earlier this month, Porsha also announced her return to RHOA, where she met Simon, after a three-year hiatus.
Simon made his RHOA debut at the end of season 13, introduced as Falynn Pina’s husband.
However, the couple went their separate ways after filming concluded.
In February, Porsha broke her silence on the end of her 15-month marriage to Simon, whom she began dating in 2021.
On May 10, 2021, Porsha revealed that she was engaged to Simon after a month of dating despite him being her RHOA co-star’s ex.
“Yes, we are madly in love,” she captioned a selfie with Guobadia.
I know it’s fast, but we live life to the fullest every day. I choose happiness every morning and every night.
Simon later confirmed the engagement on his own social media, saying: “I asked her to marry me because we ticked ALL of each other’s boxes, and more.”
Earlier this month, Porsha revealed she’s returning to RHOA with a fun video.
“Who said that? Porsha Williams is returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta? That’s false… but Porsha Guobadia is in the building. See you!” she said in the clip.
Bravo also revealed that it has signed a talent deal with Bravo’s parent company, NBCUniversal Entertainment.
“I am incredibly grateful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has placed in me to be a bigger part of their family,” she said in a statement.
‘I can’t wait to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and show the world my new world!’

“Our audiences have supported and admired Porsha for sharing her life in such an authentic, funny and vulnerable way over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her back to the NBCU family,” he added.
On September 30, 2021, Porsha declared her departure from RHOA after a decade on the show.
Her initial introduction was in season 5 when she married and subsequently divorced NFL player Kordell Stewart.
She was a main cast member during Season 5 and Season 6, and a “friend” of the show during Season 7, before returning to the main cast for Season 8.
The divorce filing also comes just days after Porsha announced her return to RHOA, where she met Simon, following a three-year hiatus.
He would remain part of the main cast until season 13, although he announced at the end of the season in 2021 that he would be leaving the show.
Porsha returned to reality TV last year by headlining the spin-off “Porsha Family Matters” in 2021.
Additionally, she appeared on season 3 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girl Trip as a last-minute replacement for Tinsley Mortimer.
Porsha shares four-year-old daughter Pilar with ex Dennis McKinley, while Guobadia is father to Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin and Ximena from previous marriages.
