Sister Wives personality Garrison Brown showed off a new cat via social media on Friday, just five days before her tragic death by suicide at the age of 25 at her Flagstaff, Arizona home.
Garrison, the son of Kody Brown and Janelle Brown, had an Instagram account under the name @robertthebrown, where he often featured his pets in posts to his more than 67,000 followers.
Her most recent post came on Friday, while she posed next to a cat she had adopted, which was her third overall.
“Last edition at my house, Mrs. Buttons,” Garrison said. ‘She is 9 years old and was in line for euthanasia, but my savior complex was not enough. #crazycatlady.’
Garrison was a proud pet owner and animal lover, having frequently featured his cats in recent years on his social media.

Garrison was seen posing with one of his pets in a January 2022 post on Instagram with his feline Catthew.
On January 16, 2022, he introduced his feline Catthew with a series of images and clips.
‘I have a son!’ he said. “I’m thinking of calling him Catthew, but I’m considering names, so leave some suggestions below.”
In a post from February 27, 2022, he was sitting in a leather chair holding Catthew.
“I was really going for the ‘Meet me in the studio’ vibe with this wallpaper… (yes, I forced Catthew to take this photo with me),” she said.
On December 11, Garrison introduced her second cat, named Patches O’Houlihan, in a series of shots that also showed her mother Janelle holding the cat.
“Meet Patches O’Houlihan, I stole her from a cave and she keeps whispering ancient Sumerian texts to me,” he said.
In a post from December 25, 2022, he posed holding his two cats while sitting in a leather chair with a Christmas tree visible in the background.

Flagstaff police said TMZ that Garrison appeared to “have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound” after they responded to his home following reports that someone had died.
Garrison was found dead in his home by his brother Gabriel, authorities told the outlet.
Police told the outlet that no foul play was suspected in Garrison’s death and that an investigation had been launched.
It was not immediately clear if Garrison left a note or other communications.
Janelle, 54, took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to announce the tragic news on behalf of the family.
“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Janelle said. ‘He was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him.
‘His loss will leave a void so big in our lives that it will take our breath away. We ask that you respect our privacy and join us in honoring her memory.’
TLC said in a statement to People on Tuesday, ‘We are devastated to learn of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. “We extend our deepest sympathies and sympathies to the Brown family at this difficult time.”

Janelle said Garrison’s “loss will leave such a gaping hole in our lives that it will take our breath away.”
Garrison also chronicled his travels on his social media page, documenting trips to places like Spain and Italy.
Garrison had appeared in episodes of the TLC series Sister Wives since its debut in 2010, which chronicles the life of a polygamous family living in Utah, as Kody, 55, was also the husband of his wives Meri, 53, Christine, 51, and Robyn. Brown, 45 years old.
Janelle and Kody entered into a spiritual marriage in 1993 and welcomed six children: Logan, 29, Maddie, 27, Hunter, 26, Garrison, 25, Gabriel, 21, and Savanah, 18. They separated in December 2022.
Kody previously split from Christine Brown in 2021 and would split from Meri later in 2022. He remains married to Robyn Brown.
Garrison moved with his family from Utah to Nevada and eventually enlisted in the National Guard, according to the outlet.
He and his father Kody had been estranged for some time in recent years: in February 2022, Kody said on the series that he and his sons Garrison and Gabriel “were no good” and “weren’t talking” while clashing with him for so which considered onerous protocols it implemented amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Kody said of his sons on the show: “Everything has changed for everyone, and they want everything to be the same; they have to realize that they have to go out and date that girlfriend, that’s fine, but they have to move out of the house so they can be in home.’
In an episode of the TLC series chronicling tension in the family, according to People, Janelle said in a confessional interview that she felt Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like he’s not as carefree as he used to be.” ‘ amid the family fight over pandemic precautions.
Janelle said of her late son: “He was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him.”
Garrison was seen hugging his mother in a May 2016 Mother’s Day post on Instagram.
And he added: “I am concerned about the mental health of my children.” Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything.’
Amid the clash of philosophies over the pandemic, Garrison moved out of his parents’ home and eventually settled in Arizona in 2021.
Gabriel said on the show’s 18th season in 2022 that he “ran into just a wall” when he tried to discuss COVID-19 protocols with his father, as it had created serious friction at home.
“There was no line of dialogue,” Gabriel said. “I think that’s what really drove the wedge between us.”
Kody opened up about his problems with his children in a May 2023 episode of the series and said he was upset about the situation.
“I haven’t been in contact with Gabriel and Garrison in quite some time,” Kody said. “I’m pretty sad because I’m not close (to them) anymore.”
He added that “there were so many things in our lives that we did that were enriching together, you know, just special experiences.”
Kody said he thought and hoped they could “get over this” in time.
Garrison had also chronicled his travels on his social media page.
The reality show personality documented trips to places like Spain and Italy.
“Right now, there’s not really an open door with Gabe and Garrison,” he said. “They are not willing to hire me.”

“I hope that eventually time will heal,” he said. “I hope that in time he can find a relationship with the children he is separated from now.”
