The girls who were hanging out nearby gasped after seeing Edey and the girl enter the room.
On Sunday, Edey scored 40 points in Purdue’s 72-66 victory over Tennessee in the Elite Eight round.
In the viral footage, Edey is seen opening the door to a private room as a group of girls hang out nearby, while the college basketball star is filmed at the party.
He then walked into the room with the girl he was with after walking through the door, while two other nearby girls gaped.
But most of the people on X who reacted to the clip jumped to Edey’s defense. Instead, they condemned the stranger who filmed the Canadian basketball star at the university party.
“Let Kid live his life,” said one user. He is also a college student!! Just because he is a beast (sic) on the court it seems he is a beast off the court too!!! I’d love to share a drink with Edey!!!’

On Sunday, Edey dominated Purdue’s 72-66 victory over Tennessee with 40 points and a career-high 16 rebounds and ensured the Boilermakers advanced to the Final Four for the first time in 44 years.
Edey was 13 of 21 from the field and 14 of 22 from the foul line to ensure top-seeded Purdue (33-4) made its first Final Four appearance since 1980.
He is now averaging 30.0 points, 16.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in the NCAA men’s tournament.
