Premier Anthony Albanese was spotted visiting one of Melbourne’s top nightspots on Thursday with former Victorian Premier Dan Andrews.
The two old friends were seen enjoying a meal at the famous Flower Drum restaurant, known for its high-end clientele, dazzling menu and luxurious prices.
And according to witnesses, staff were delighted to be of service to Mr Albanese, 59, who some have dubbed Australia’s ‘Prime Minister of the Party’, after his frequent high-profile appearances on the red carpet and in concerts.
However, according to sources close to the Herald of the sunAndrews, 51, was not recognized by staff at the posh venue, even though he was premier of Victoria for nine years, from 2013 to 2023.
Andrews was known to attract a lot of criticism before his retirement last year, especially for the way his government handled the COVID crisis, which included prolonged lockdowns across Victoria.

A sample of the menu on offer at the 50-year-old Melbourne institution includes a full roast suckling pig for $1100 and a Black Angus eye steak for $55.
Meanwhile, a Claypot Braised Lamb will set diners back a whopping $70 per serving.
No details have emerged about what meals were served to Mr Albanese and Mr Andrews.
Albanese was branded Australia’s “Prime Minister of the Party”, accused of walking red carpets and traveling the world instead of “looking after the country” as workers struggle to keep up with the rising cost of living.

Flower Drum Restaurant is known for its upscale clientele, dazzling menu, and high prices.
The Prime Minister has been photographed on “big nights”, including a Nick Cave concert, and then gushing about the Australian musician on Instagram.
Albanese is known to have received criticism after attending the exclusive GQ Men of the Year Awards with his partner Jodie Haydon back in 2022.
The Prime Minister has attended other high-profile events, including the Prime Minister’s 11th cricket match and Midnight Oil’s final concert at Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion in 2022.
And he was previously criticized for attending a Taylor Swift concert in Sydney.
Albanese defended his attendance at Swift’s Sydney show, telling Weekend Sunrise on Sunday that “at a time when there is so much turmoil in the world, one of the reasons Taylor Swift’s tour has been so successful is because It’s so positive.”
‘It’s so encouraging, and that’s her message… And she’s a very welcome visitor here. And I think her message of female empowerment is positive,” she stated.
