Piers Morgan Slams Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for Hypocrisy-Filled Colombia Trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing criticism for what some see as hypocrisy as they prepare for their upcoming trip to Colombia. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been criticised by former GB News presenter Petra Morgan, who has branded their visit a “fake royal trip”.

Writing for The sunMorgan criticised the couple for continuing to present themselves as royals despite no longer performing any official duties for the monarchy. “Meghan and Harry are not royals today. They do not perform any royal duties for the institution that conferred their titles on them; they are just lining their pockets with money in the United States by constantly criticising their families and the monarchy in the media,” Morgan said.

Morgan questioned the legitimacy of their trip, asking: “So what gives them the right to strut around the world pretending to be royalty, on quasi-official visits?” He pointed to several problems with the visit, starting with what he called the “ridiculous hypocrisy” of the couple travelling to Colombia, a country with elevated risks of terrorism, kidnapping and other dangers, according to travel warnings from the UK and US governments.

Morgan also highlighted what she sees as an inconsistency in Prince Harry’s actions. “After all of Harry’s whiny demands for taxpayer-funded royal security when he comes to the UK to ‘protect his family,’ his decision to go to one of the most dangerous places in the world is ironic,” she wrote.

Morgan also criticised the couple for supporting a Colombian government that has been plagued by scandals since it came to power, calling their decision to visit the country a questionable move.

Morgan’s criticisms are the latest in a series of public attacks on the Duke and Duchess, who continue to come under scrutiny for their actions and decisions since stepping back from royal duties. As they prepare for their trip, the backlash serves as a reminder of the ongoing controversy surrounding their roles and the public perception of their activities.
