Pete Wicks admitted he thought he would “never be enough” as he spoke about his battles with mental health.
The former TOWIE star, 36, revealed the name of her book Never Enough: My Words Unfiltered comes from her first tattoo because she thought she would “never be enough”.
He joined Vicky Pattison on stage for her In Conversation With event on Tuesday night, where he thanked fans for the “amazing messages” he’s received following the success of his new book, which has become a Sunday Times bestseller.
While on stage, Pete said: “The first tattoo I got was Never Enough because I never thought I would be enough. That’s where the title came from.”
Pete wanted the book to be “relatable” to readers, adding: “I just wish people would walk away knowing that enough is enough.

“It’s hard to be able to explain how you really feel and I think we all mislabel how we feel sometimes, but I want people to know that it’s okay to not be okay all the time. You just have to be willing to keep trying!”
TV star Vicky also praised him: “I always knew the misconceptions about you were false. You may not know it, but you were actually the first man in my life that I truly respected. You were clearly raised to be a strong woman.”
The TOWIE star then went on to reveal that the book was her best gift to her beloved mum.
“The most important person for me in writing this book was my mother. There were things in it that I hadn’t even told her that really healed our relationship,” she said.
“There’s no one I admire more than her. Talking to her about the past has been therapeutic. Losing my grandmother brought me and my mother closer together, but I wanted to write this book because I knew my grandmother would be proud that I had the courage to do so.”
She ended by sharing a heartfelt message with the audience: “I’ve always been a shoulder to cry on for other people, but you can’t help anyone if you don’t help yourself first. The book gave me the opportunity to renew myself and recharge my batteries.”
Pete recently insisted that Zara McDermott “loves Strictly” and will be his “number one fan” when she competes.
She signed up for Strictly Come Dancing just days after it emerged that her friend Zara, 27, had been physically and verbally abused by her professional dancing partner Graziano Di Prima while on last year’s series.
However, Pete insisted that hadn’t stopped Zara from supporting him, telling MailOnline: “Zara loves the show and has been very supportive so she’ll probably be my number one fan.”

When it was suggested that Zara could teach him some moves, he joked: “It’s my partner who’s going to teach me everything, so I’m excited to get started.”
Pete had previously spoken openly about how Zara had been the driving force behind his decision to sign up.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday, he admitted: “Zara was the one who pushed me to do this because she loves the show. I was quite honest about the fact that I’d never actually watched it.
“I first saw Strictly on the first live show last year when Zara was on and I thought, ‘Wow, this is amazing’ but I never really imagined myself doing it. Sequins and all that stuff aren’t necessarily my style.”
He added: “I’m petrified. I’m like a Ferrari from the waist down and a Volvo from above. I have the hips but nothing else.”
