Oti Mabuse has celebrated his daughter’s six-month birthday after the dancer welcomed her first child prematurely last year.
The Strictly star, 33, and her husband Marius Lepure, 41, became parents in November after their newborn was born prematurely with an infection and spent six weeks in intensive care.
Oti also experienced complications after childbirth when she was diagnosed with sepsis.
On the occasion of her baby’s six-month birthday, the mother took to Instagram with a sweet message as she admitted that the newborn “defied the odds with her early arrival” and called motherhood a journey of ups and downs.
Sharing a slice of cake with a number ‘6’ candle, Oti wrote: ‘Today marks 6 months since our little miracle entered this world, defying the odds with his early arrival.

The family was last seen enjoying a family holiday in Mallorca earlier this month, when Oti was photographed dancing on the beach with her daughter strapped in front in a papoose.
Oti has been incredibly open about her traumatic birth after explaining how her His daughter’s life was saved by him National Health Service after a terrifying sepsis scare.
She said The sun on Sunday: ‘It was helpful to have someone ask me, “How are you feeling? How are you dealing with these new emotions?”
‘My sepsis was discovered after giving birth, it’s not something that was overlooked, so I just want to make it clear, as I had read it misinterpreted like that a while ago.
‘My daughter had an infection when she came out and the doctors gave her treatment. I didn’t have time to panic, we were just focused on her getting better.’

Oti added that the little girl had to learn to eat on her own and breathe on her own, but admitted that the neonatal unit is a world she knows little about and said the team did an “incredible” job.
The dancer saw the ‘incredible’ work of the midwives and had the support of friends and family every day when she could not physically be by her baby’s side.
Oti asked her Instagram followers for help in March when she admitted she “should be glowing” during a candid chat about the struggles of motherhood.
Sharing two raw selfies of her looking very “tired” while lying on a bed, she wrote: ‘Ok moms, I have some questions; I would love to receive suggestions or advice.
‘This is the face of a mother who should be radiant but I think I’m even more tired. The baby sleeps wonderfully every night this week, from 9 pm to 9 am (what an angel), but I don’t… because…’
Oti asked her Instagram followers for help in March when she admitted she “should be glowing” during a candid chat about the struggles of motherhood.
The former Strictly star went on to list the reasons why she has been suffering disturbed nights.
She continued: ‘1. I still have to pump every 2-4 hours at night. If I don’t, I’ll explode. 2. I am worried that if I don’t pump at night, since she sleeps for many hours without feeding, my supply will be less. 3. That whole dream worries me even more because the SIDS stays in the back of my mind every day, so I’m constantly waking up to check if he’s still breathing.
‘So how can I enjoy going back to sleep without losing my supply and learn to control my mummy paranoia?’
Oti added: “Oh yes, happy Easter.”
