Olympian Alysha Newman left the Paris Games with a bronze medal and also a big boost to her bank account and social media following.
The Canadian pole vaulter, who has been operating an OnlyFans page since before the Tokyo Games, went viral last week when she celebrated her new Canadian record for the vault with an impromptu twerk celebration.
And that moment caused her site on the platform to crash briefly afterwards, she revealed to Mail Sport, as she and her team sat down on a call with OnlyFans software employees to fix the problem.
Newman also added that he has received 20,000 new subscribers (and counting) on the platform since the start of the Games.
Many use the website to post nude content (Newman hints at “access to my naughtiest content” in a recent post), but the 30-year-old said she also uses the site to “connect with her fans” and give them an inside look at her life as an elite athlete.

The Olympian has seen a huge boost on her social media following the celebration.
“There has always been a stigma around this issue and I am very aware of that,” he said. “But I have a lot of faith in the company and the path it is taking.”
Regardless of one’s opinions about Newman’s website, the financial results speak volumes.
She currently charges $7.79 for a subscription (she normally charges $12.99), meaning she’s raised at least $155,800 from her new wave of subscribers alone (OnlyFans creators keep 80 percent of the revenue).
She also estimated that she has amassed 200,000 followers on Instagram since the start of the Olympics, while her earnings from OnlyFans have helped her cover many of the costs associated with being an elite athlete.
Newman said he pays between $500 and $800 a week for chiropractic treatments and massages, has equipped his home with a sauna and hyperbaric chamber and gets blood tests every three months to monitor things like iron levels and hydration.
That spending paid off in Paris.
“The knowledge I’ve been able to accumulate through my financial gains from just the fans and my other sponsors, has only helped me achieve this bronze medal more than ever,” he said.
Newman was also able to pay for his coach (whom he calls his “best friend”) to travel to Paris, and has begun investing his money in cryptocurrencies and property, which he is setting up AirBnBs for rent.
Her presence on OnlyFans turned out to be somewhat ironic.
As thousands of fans packed the Stade de France during her pole vault routine this summer, and thousands now pay for her online content, she says it was the void of the COVID-affected Tokyo Games that encouraged her to get involved with the site.
She said she has received 20,000 new OnlyFans subscribers since the start of the Olympics.
Newman, seen in 2022, insists the platform is a great way to connect with her fans.
Newman set a Canadian pole vault record by taking bronze at the Paris Games
‘Originally, I started because I thought, ‘I need your energy, encourage me to go to the Olympics.’
That idea has now grown to the point where she dreams of helping fund a new high-performance athletics centre in Canada.
The country’s government only gives her a small stipend for her sport, she said, and she’s not the only Olympian who has turned to OnlyFans to help support herself.
But she is not blind to the connotation that the site has in certain corners.
Newman acknowledged that some of his sponsors were initially skeptical about him joining the platform and admitted that he might not post risqué content if he had an NBA- or NFL-sized salary.
Still, she praised the website for allowing her to be her “authentic self” and has no plans to leave it anytime soon.
She also gained around 200,000 followers on Instagram since the start of the Olympics.
Newman hopes to win another medal at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles
“My mother and parents raised me with a pretty tough skin,” she said.
He later added: “I think we’ll have a conversation in a couple of years and you’ll say, “Weren’t you the smartest person in the world?”
For now, Newman is still “on cloud nine” after winning her first Olympic medal and hopes to win another in 2028.
But of course, there is another motivation to qualify for Los Angeles.
“It’s a great hub for social media,” he said.
