Noah Lyles is an Olympic champion for the first time after claiming glory in the men’s 100m final.

Lyles, who had to settle for second place in her semi-final earlier in the day, claimed her first Olympic gold with a time of 9.79 seconds.

It marks the best moment of the 27-year-old’s career, following a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021.

He defeated Jamaica’s K. Thompson with a score of 9.79 seconds, while compatriot F. Kerley came in third to win the bronze medal (9.81 seconds).
