- Nick Bosa couldn’t wait to show off his MAGA hat after the 49ers beat Dallas
The NFL will reportedly not suspend Nick Bosa after the 49ers star wore a MAGA hat in support of Donald Trump during a postgame television interview.
After San Francisco’s win over the Cowboys last weekend, Bosa interrupted NBC’s postgame interview of teammates Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Isaac Guerendo to point out his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.
According CBS Sports’ Jonathan JonesBosa will not face a penalty for this measure, although he could be fined.
That decision reportedly won’t be made until late next week, after Tuesday’s presidential election.
Jones also noted that the NFL has a rule prohibiting players from displaying messages “that relate to political activities or causes.”
Nick Bosa Crashed His Teammates’ Post-Game NBC Interview to Show Off MAGA Hat
Bosa was reluctant to talk much about his Donald Trump hat Sunday night.
Notably, Bosa took off his MAGA hat for his postgame press conference and refused to talk much about his decision to wear it when pressed by a reporter.
“I’m not going to talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important moment,” he said on the podium, wearing a different cap on his head.
Bosa was also asked if in the past he had been tempted to talk more about his political beliefs.
“It’s definitely a little easier nowadays, but no, I don’t feel inclined to do it,” he said.
“It’s just a different climate.”
Bosa has been an outspoken Trump supporter in the past, having previously tweeted messages of support for the former president before the 49ers drafted him in 2019.
He has also been quoted as saying that he is a “huge fan” of Trump, adding, “He brings a charisma that no other candidate has had in my lifetime,” according to SF Gate.
