NBA 2K 25 cover stars have been announced.
The coveted honors were awarded to a current NBA star, a WNBA star and a retired Hall of Famer.
Last year’s issues featured the late Kobe Bryant on the cover, a nod to his number 24, and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty.
This year, Celtics star Jayson Tatum will appear on the cover of the standard edition, Las Vegas Aces legend A’ja Wilson will be on the WNBA edition, while both will be on the special All-Star edition.
It will be the first time a WNBA player has appeared in a non-WNBA edition of the game in history.

A’ja Wilson and Jayston Tatum are together on the cover of the All-Star edition of the game.
Former Toronto Raptors sensation Vince Carter will be inducted into the Hall of Fame edition.
“Being featured on the cover of NBA 2K25 is a huge moment for me and a testament to the growing fan base of the WNBA,” A’ja Wilson said in a press release.
“Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to better capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can’t wait for fans to experience it in-game,” Wilson continued.
Tatum and Wilson were the focal points of their respective teams’ recent NBA and WNBA titles.
“It’s an honor to be named the cover athlete for NBA 2K25,” Jayson Tatum said in a statement. “I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s been a dream of mine to one day be on the cover. Even after winning an NBA championship, it’s an honor to see this come to fruition.”
The game will be released on September 6 worldwide and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
While the standard edition has unlimited distribution, the WNBA edition is exclusive to GameStop and will only be available with physical copies for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also only be available in North America.
“Among the honors NBA 2K and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame have bestowed upon me, this year is unforgettable, and makes me reflect with gratitude on my career,” Vince Carter said in a statement.
“Being named a cover athlete would always have been a special moment for me, but it’s a particular honor to be on the cover of the NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition,” Carter concluded.
