Miranda Lambert will receive the Country Icon Award at the upcoming People’s Choice Country Awards in 2024.

The 40-year-old singer of The Wranglers, who recently shared a very racy selfie with her husband, will be honored at the televised event taking place at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, September 26.

Her career is being recognized because the star “built an authentic, female country brand that has shaped the industry,” according to a press release shared with People.

Jen Neal, executive vice president of live and special events for NBCUniversal Entertainment, said of the singer: ‘A driving force in country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert’s groundbreaking albums continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world.

“We are thrilled to celebrate her career, her fierce individualism and her innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award,” he said.

In May, Miranda said in a interview that his long-awaited album is “very country.”

She told the outlet: ‘I made this record in Texas. I hadn’t made an album in Texas since I was 18. I went to Arlyn Studios in Austin and Jon Randall, who’s my best friend and co-writer and co-producer, we worked together a lot.

“I just came back home to Texas to really get myself in shape for this new season and this new chapter. I signed with Republic Records… and this new team has given me so much excitement and inspiration because with them it’s all about the music,” he concluded.
