Mike Tyson still vows to knock Jake Paul unconscious when the two finally meet in the ring on November 15.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion was initially scheduled to face Paul, 27, on July 20 in a controversial fight three weeks after his 58th birthday.
However, after suffering a medical emergency on a recent flight from Miami to Los Angeles, ‘Iron’ Mike was forced to withdraw from the summer contest and reschedule his matchup with the YouTuber-turned-wrestler for later this year.
Although his health problem delayed him just under four months, Tyson remains extremely confident of winning by knockout on the new date in November.
In a chilling video message, the boxing legend warned Paul after their fight was officially rescheduled: “Different date, same fate.” I’m going to knock out Jake Paul.
Mike Tyson continues to promise to knock Jake Paul unconscious when they meet on November 15.
Tyson is said to have suffered nausea and dizziness on his recent cross-country flight due to an ulcer outbreak, forcing airline staff to ask passengers if there was a doctor on board.
Paramedics later boarded the plane to treat him after it landed in Los Angeles.
Sources claimed that the cabin crew “issued an announcement asking for a doctor 30 minutes before landing and the message even appeared on everyone’s screens.”
“He was in first class, but we were in the exit row,” added a witness.
‘They asked us to stay on the plane and they landed so the paramedics could enter. (The flight attendant) said something like: “He’s a very important passenger, so we want to make sure he’s okay.” She knew it was him, but she said the words “Mike Tyson” and she nodded.
Once the plane landed at LAX, there was another delay of about 25 minutes while paramedics treated Tyson.
Tyson was initially scheduled to face Paul on July 20, but their Netflix fight was rescheduled for November 15 following the boxing legend’s recent health scare.
With many uncomfortable with this going ahead beforehand, Tyson’s health scare has sparked even more concern about the fight icon’s safety ahead of his rescheduled date with Paul.
UFC president Dana White called the contest “fucking ridiculous” and highlighted the worrying age difference between the two men.
“God, no,” White said, when asked if he had anything to do with it.
“When this fight happens, Tyson will be 58 fucking years old. A damn almost 60-year-old man shouldn’t fight a 27-year-old guy. Under any circumstances. Even if it’s Mike Tyson. It’s fucking ridiculous,” he continued.
