Meghan Markle is reportedly Reflecting on the impact of her past comments about the Royal Family, particularly those she made during her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. In that interview, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about her experiences within the royal institution, which included accusations of racism.
Royal biographer Angela Levin shared her thoughts on the situation during an appearance on GB News Speaking to host Nana Akua, Levin said: “He deeply regrets how he behaved towards the royals and he is very sorry for saying they were racist. I don’t know if I believe that, but in any case, it’s too late, isn’t it? Everyone has realised that was nonsense and it is no longer heard.”
Levin went on to express the emotional toll the allegations may have taken on the late Queen Elizabeth II. “It was very, very cruel, and I think the queen, when she heard that, it was very painful for her. Because the one thing the queen was not was racist, in any way, shape or form,” he said.
In addition to addressing Meghan’s alleged regrets, Levin touched on recent challenges the duchess has faced in her professional endeavors. Specifically, he mentioned issues surrounding a failed trademark application. “She’s been denied her trademark and they feel it’s been done very sloppily,” Levin noted.
The brand in question belongs to a lifestyle brand called “American Riviera GardenAccording to Levin, Meghan ran into legal hurdles because the name refers to a geographical location. “She’s not allowed to use it because it’s part of the area and she can’t own an area. That’s why it hasn’t been accepted,” Levin explained. He added: “You’d think that when you want to do such a big deal, you start by doing that first and then you send out 50 jars of jam. You don’t do that before you’ve got everything sorted out with the trademark to do it.”
Levin’s comments suggest that the way Meghan approaches her personal and professional life may be under scrutiny. The combination of public reflections on past actions and setbacks in business ventures paints a picture of a difficult period for the duchess.
As Meghan navigates these complexities, royal observers and commentators alike continue to speculate about the potential for reconciliation with the Royal Family and the future of her independent projects.
