The Married At First Sight relationship expert took to Instagram this weekend to reveal that she’s celebrating completing her latest round of chemotherapy.

The 52-year-old posed beautifully alongside her husband Gareth Brisbane, looking absolutely radiant for the camera.

The smiling couple headed out for a well-deserved victory-filled lunch to commemorate the milestone.

“Lunch with the big guy to celebrate my impending FINAL round of chemo,” Mel wrote in the caption.

‘A beautiful day on the river, good food, a sip of wine and optimism all around.’

Mel was less optimistic in May when she was undergoing chemotherapy and admitted that she had found it difficult to cope with the side effects.

The therapist announced that she had been diagnosed with the disease in December and subsequently underwent surgery and chemotherapy.

‘I’m halfway through and it’s getting tough. Feeling fatigued and nauseous is an increasingly important part of my daily life.

“I feel like I’m hungover or pregnant every day, which is no fun,” she continued.

Mel added that she has been receiving treatment during her move to the UK with her husband Gareth.

“I don’t do things halfway. It’s been a difficult time, as I’ve been adjusting to all of that and the move,” she said.

Mel, who is an ambassador for colorectal charity Occtopus, recently spoke to the UK’s Magic FM about her health.

“To be completely honest with you, I’m feeling a little discouraged today,” she said.

Mel added that she is now on her third cycle of chemotherapy.

“It’s like I have a hangover, like I’ve been drinking all night.”

Despite this, the media personality has shown her determination to continue working and has no intention of slowing down.

“Right now I’m trying to find a way to balance everything, because I’m not going to stop working. This isn’t defeating me, I’m here to fight, I just need to make some adjustments,” he continued.

This comes after Mel told of the agony she felt before her cancer diagnosis.

Speaking to New! magazine, Mel recalled the intense pain she felt while working, saying: “I was doubled over and screaming; the pain was so intense.”

At first her doctors thought her symptoms were simply constipation, but she soon became concerned after losing her appetite.

On a trip to Ireland with her husband, Mel said she was in “a lot of pain” and had trouble keeping food and water down.

Knowing something was still wrong, upon returning to London she went to see a gastroenterologist, who was “concerned” by her unexplained weight loss.

Mel had a CT scan and returned a few days later to receive the results, recalling the heartbreaking moment she was told she had cancer.

She said: ‘We were sitting in his office and the doctor had this blank look on his face and I thought, ‘This doesn’t look right,’ and he said, ‘It’s cancer.’ I think I was numb, I didn’t process it and I went into work mode, that was the only thing I could focus on.

The reality TV host revealed her shocking health battle in December and underwent colon surgery just before the end of the year.

He explained that his tumor, which he named ‘Terry’, was removed by doctors in the United Kingdom.

However, when the cancer spread through the colon into the muscle, Mel discovered she needed chemotherapy and began treatment at the end of February.
