For a short time, Marmite Squeezy provided a simple, hassle-free alternative to scraping leftovers from the bottom of the jar.

In 2020, fans across the UK were left disappointed after the product was pulled from supermarket shelves due to “declining demand”.

However, Marmite has relaunched its Squeezy variation after a four-year hiatus after fans begged it to return to supermarket shelves – but the new and improved product is slightly different to the original version.

Marmite Squeezy will now contain a thinner, less viscous formula, meaning it will be even easier to squeeze onto toast, stews and pasta dishes.

The product’s return comes after years of pleas from fans, with dozens of them taking to X earlier this year to demand its return.

Interestingly, it appears that Marmite had taken into account the exact suggestion of one consumer, who wrote in April: “Hi Marmite, how about a more liquid version of Marmite for sauces and cooking?

‘In a squeeze bottle. It’s hard to mix with things, bring back the squeezable kettle, yours sincerely, a girl sick of opening herself in a sticky kettle lid.

Another person wrote: ‘Please give me the squeeze bottle back!’, while a third said: ‘What happened to the squeeze kettle?’

A fourth wrote: ‘Why is this no longer available in a squeeze bottle? There is nothing worse than trying to get it out of a jar.

Another fan pleaded: ‘Bring back squeezable Marmite, yours sincerely a girl sick of opening (sic) a sticky marmite lid.’

For now, fans can get their hands on Marmite Squeezy in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, it has been reported Metro.

Annabelle Young, Marmite brand manager, said: ‘After years of customer demand, we are delighted to announce that we are bringing back our much-loved Marmite Squeezy jar.

‘This product offers the same delicious taste, but makes it even easier to enjoy.

‘We can’t wait to spread the love by making everyone’s Marmite experience that little bit smoother!’

It comes as fans of a popular Marmite product were left devastated after it was announced the item will be removed from shelves.

The versatile yeast spread has collaborated with several brands over the years, creating quirky innovations with everything from cheese to popcorn, oatmeal cakes and even sausage and butter.

Now, to the disappointment of Marmite lovers, a jar combining the spread with peanut butter has been removed from the aisles.
