Marcus Rashford’s dream home in the Cheshire countryside is still under construction, four years after the footballer bought the land.
New construction photos show the exterior of the five-bedroom home completed, but there is no landscaping and minimal interior work underway.
Locals say construction work is sporadic and the site is often empty.
And there is a big problem. The property, located in the heart of a quiet green space, is right below the flight path for Manchester Airport: Useful for Rashford travel, but not so desirable for peace and quiet.
The Manchester United star, 26, started ‘investing more in property’ at the start of 2020 and soon after began construction on his new natural paradise.
Marcus Rashford’s dream home in the Cheshire countryside is still under construction, four years after the footballer bought the land.
The five-bedroom property will include a nine-hole golf course and, in the planning proposals, ecology experts have drawn up “biodiversity enhancement measures” to look after the natural habitat.
Rashford bought the ground greenfield in 2020 before plans to refurbish the pitch were given the green light in February 2022.
Plans for the house include an open-plan kitchen, study and dining room, while it will also feature a basement complete with an indoor pool, wine cellar and gym.
The first floor will house the property’s five bedrooms, while a two-storey apartment is also being built as a guest house, connected to the main house by a hallway.
A report to the council adds that the property will be “enhanced for bats and breeding birds”.
It says: ‘This can be achieved by installing appropriate bat boxes and bird nest boxes in the proposed house on the site.
“Four boxes for bats and three nests for sparrows will be built, which will open towards areas of the garden or field.”
Soft lighting will also “ensure that the proposed bat and bird box locations are not illuminated by any new artificial lighting.”

Locals say work on the construction, beneath Manchester Airport’s flight path, is sporadic and the site is regularly empty.
Plans for the property include “hedgehog-friendly fencing” to allow the creatures “to move between the site itself and the surrounding golf course habitats.”
Rashford also signed an agreement to protect great crested newts on land last year after they were discovered in a nearby pond.
A planting plan has been submitted which would include woodland and plants native to the area, including hazel and beech.
And in the 2022 planning application, Rashford stated that he wants to reduce the size of the property from 813 m2 to 792 m2.
The English striker rose through the ranks at Old Trafford, bursting onto the scene in the 2015-16 campaign with five goals in 11 games in the second half of the season.
In eight years, Rashford has found the net 135 times in 413 games, often standing out as a shining light in a period of scarcity in the club’s history, while off the field he was awarded an MBE for his work tackling child hunger.
Photographs taken of the site in 2022 show the construction of the mansion’s steel structure.
Two years later, the exterior work appears to be completed, but there is no landscaping and minimal interior work is being done.

Recently, however, the 26-year-old has found things a little more difficult, scoring just eight goals last season as United slipped to eighth place. He also found himself in trouble for missing training after a 12-hour tequila spree in Belfast and for partying after Erik Ten Hag’s side lost the Manchester derby in October.
Earlier this month, former Red Devils coach Benni McCarthy shed light on his relationship with Rashford and the type of people the star surrounds himself with, in an interview with SuperSport offline.
He said: “Rashford is special, he is a special human being.” He has a pure heart and is Man United through and through.

‘He was “Marcus” (as opposed to “Rashy”) to me. I’ll get right to the point and I think he respected that instead of me sweet-talking him…for other reasons.
“I was just a sincere person and I think he probably didn’t have enough people in his life who were sincere with him because everyone tells him what he wants to hear because of who he is.
“I was just normal and I think he appreciated that, so he would come to me for any kind of advice, advice about anything.” We still text each other.’
In July, Rashford was handed a six-month driving ban and a £1,600 fine after he was caught driving at 104mph on the M60 in his £560,000 Rolls-Royce.
