A man allegedly walked into a supermarket and urinated on $300 worth of groceries.

The sickening incident is believed to have occurred at a supermarket on George Street in central Sydney at 11.40pm on July 1.

“Police have been told the incident caused more than $300 worth of damage to goods and extensive work was undertaken over several hours to decontaminate the area,” NSW Police said.

Police have released images of a man they would like to speak to.

He is white, between 20 and 30 years old and of medium build. He was wearing a backwards navy blue cap, a black jacket, black pants and dark blue shoes, while carrying a black handbag.

Anyone with information about the incident or who can identify the man is urged to call Sydney City Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
