An earthquake has shaken an Indonesian island that has a population of 50,000 people.
The earthquake struck the island of Tapat, in eastern Indonesia, shortly before 10:30 a.m. local time and had a depth of 10 kilometers, according to data from the United States Geological Survey.
The island, located in the Moluccan Sea, has had no reports of injuries or property damage. 7 news reported.
An earthquake shook eastern Indonesia and people were warned to remain alert for possible aftershocks.
Indonesia’s meteorology and geophysics agency has stated that there is no chance of a tsunami.
But locals and visitors are warned about possible aftershocks.
