Box office stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts appeared in his campaign ads, and millennial and Gen Z icons like Taylor Swift and Charli XCX urged citizens to go to the polls, but his campaign’s reliance on “virtue signaling” A- listeners was not enough.

Trump, 78, became the nation’s next president after capturing votes in a wave of swing states, winning both the popular vote and the electoral college overnight.

He received endorsements from firebrand Tesla CEO Elon Musk, former WWE star Hulk Hogan and Joe Rogan, who provided a last-minute endorsement for the Republican candidate on the eve of Election Day.

While it’s debatable what effect celebrity endorsements actually have on voters, experts say Rogan’s unique endorsement of his millions of followers likely helped Trump far more than the star-studded lineup that preached the blue wall.

He also issued a stern warning to the crowd, urging them to vote. “If we don’t show up tomorrow, we may very well not have the opportunity to vote again,” he said.
