LA braced for traffic chaos as World Series headlines six huge events in the city on Friday night

The World Series isn’t the only big event taking place in Los Angeles on Friday night, far from it, as six of the city’s major sporting venues will host an event simultaneously.

The headliner is, of course, the New York Yankees playing the Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series.

That’s not the only professional game in town, as the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns are in town to play the Lakers, in LeBron James and Bronny James’ first home game as teammates.

USC also plays in a Big Ten matchup against Rutgers, who flew in from New Jersey for a conference game.

The city will host two massive high school football games tonight with the East LA Classic between Garfield and Roosevelt high schools at SoFi Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Rams.

The World Series will be just one of six major events taking place in the city on Friday night.

Two West Coast prep powers in St. John Bosco and Mater Dei will also play Friday night.

On top of all that, veteran Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour will perform a concert at the Intuit Dome, the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Los Angeles is already known for having terrible traffic on a normal day, and this level of congestion is expected to make things worse for commuters.

The focus is on Los Angeles as it hosts the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Friday could be seen as a test of how multiple major events could be held in the city at once with many people in town to watch them.

If the greater Los Angeles area also counts, Jeff Lynne’s ELO will also play the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Friday.
