It will be the New York Knicks who will have the pleasure of watching the Boston Celtics get their NBA Championship rings on opening night of the 2024-25 NBA season.
According to Shams Charania of The AthleticThe regular season begins on Oct. 22, when the defending champions host the Knicks in Boston. That game will air on TNT, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Los Angeles Lakers.
Another NBA opener on Oct. 23 will be of the utmost importance. Charania reports that the revamped Philadelphia 76ers will host the Milwaukee Bucks on ESPN. Also on Oct. 23, the Los Angeles Clippers will play their first game in the new Intuit Dome when they host the Phoenix Suns.
Other notable matchups include Klay Thompson’s first game against his former team, when the Dallas Mavericks take on the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 12, according to Charania. The Celtics and Mavericks will also meet on Jan. 25 in Dallas and Feb. 6 in Boston.
The news comes just days after we found out which teams will be playing on Christmas Day.
