Kelly Clarkson shared a glimpse of her failed marriage to Brandon Blackstock during a chat with John Cena on Monday’s The Kelly Clarkson Show, revealing that they were both “horrible” when remembering their wedding anniversary.
The 42-year-old singer, who divorced her ex-husband in 2021, opened up about her “horrible” habit during a chat with the actor and WWE star, 47, as she revealed why she had two wedding ceremonies with wife Shay Shariatzadeh, 37.
“I heard you had two weddings, one wasn’t enough,” Kelly probed, to which John replied, “You’re right, one wasn’t enough.
‘We chose to get married during the pandemic and that was because we wanted to share our promise to spend our lives together.
‘And we wanted to surround ourselves with those we love when the world opened up and gave us the opportunity to do so.

The 42-year-old singer was married to Brandon, 47, for nearly seven years before filing for divorce in 2021.
Kelly made the revelation during an interview with actor and WWE star John Cena.
‘We were so grateful to have two weddings, which means two anniversaries and two more days on the calendar where we can look each other in the eyes and realize we both made the right decision.’
John originally married Shay on October 12, 2020, at a lawyer’s office in Tampa, Florida.
They then tied the knot for the second time in Vancouver on January 15, 2022.
After hearing John’s sweet anecdote, Kelly joked, “I feel like an idiot. I have trouble remembering one anniversary and you have to remember two!”
“I’m not saying I don’t forget them sometimes,” John replied.
Kelly, 47, poked fun at herself and her ex, Brandon, admitting: “I’m the worst. Luckily, my ex was too. We were both horrible.”
Kelly married Brandon on October 20, 2013, in Walland, Tennessee.
Before filing for divorce in June 2020, they welcomed daughter River, 10, and son Remington, eight.
Kelly revealed in March that she has no regrets about ending her marriage to Brandon (pictured together at the CMT Music Awards in 2018).

During their marriage, Brandon acted as her manager.
Even though their divorce was finalized in March 2022, Kelly and Brandon will go to court in August over unpaid commissions.
The couple remains at odds over whether the fees Brandon charged for deals he helped negotiate for his ex-wife violated California’s Talent Agency Law.
The law prohibits anyone other than a licensed talent from receiving commissions on deals secured for a professional artist.
In November, a California labor commissioner ruled that Brandon owed Kelly $2.6 million because he was making deals he was not legally allowed to do.
His comments came after John confirmed that he had two wedding ceremonies with his wife Shay Shariatzadeh: one in 2020 and another in 2022.
The $2.6 million figure dates back to 2017, though Kelly filed a lawsuit in March claiming he had actually been violating these laws since 2007 and now wants a more thorough accounting.
In March, Kelly said she has “no regrets” about ending her nearly seven-year marriage to Brandon.
Two years after their divorce was finalized, a source close to Kelly told People that she was feeling better than ever and was “doing really well.”
“She is happy to have left Los Angeles for New York. She has primary custody of the children and is a great mother,” they said.
The source said that “although she loves to work, the children are her world.”
