Katherine Ryan revealed her husband Bobby Kootstra gave her her first orgasm while speaking candidly on the NewlyWeds Podcast with Jamie and Sophie Laing on Monday.
The comedian, 41, and Bobby were childhood sweethearts in high school and reconnected decades later before marrying and having two children together: Fenna, two, and Fred, three.
Speaking on the podcast, they spoke very openly about their early romance and revealed their sex life.
Katherine admitted that while she didn’t lose her virginity to Bobby when they were younger, he did give her her first orgasm.
Speaking about her first sexual encounters, she said: ‘It was confusing. Like I didn’t know where it was going to go for a while either because as girls, you don’t know what I mean Sophie? We don’t really know if there’s an adjustment,’ to which Sophie responded by saying: ‘100%’.

“It was the first time I had an orgasm. I thought: what? The school system had betrayed me. And it happened, you know, so I didn’t know.”
Katherine then revealed: ‘Well, I’ll say this. I didn’t lose my virginity. But I did have an orgasm with you first. Yeah, that’s a big deal. Yeah, that made me happy!’
Elsewhere in the podcast chat, the couple talked about how Bobby broke up with her at prom after the start of their teenage romance.
After the prom breakup, Katherine revealed how she tried to get back at him by kissing a much older security guard at the event.
She said: ‘We were at the prom. And Bobby had been drinking at the prom. He can still get a little crazy when he drinks.
‘And he came up to me and we just didn’t get along. We hadn’t been getting along for a few days before prom. There are a number of events that I was later blamed for. I was dumped while wearing a tiara at prom.
“And then he said, ‘I just want to be with my friends. I just want to focus on football and I don’t want to be with you anymore.’ And Lady In Red was playing and I said, ‘At our prom that we went to together.’ .

The couple are seen with their children Fenna and Fred, as well as Katherine’s daughter Violet from a previous relationship.
“And I’d had enough because Bobby had been a little hesitant for a few days before this prom, and I didn’t want to go back to him.
And then I searched the after-prom party for the most intimidating guy I could find, because we have a rule that you can’t sleep with anyone’s friends. I decided to talk to the 31-year-old security guard whose job it was to do the opposite of what he did!’
Bobby’s explanation was: “I just wanted to be single for a while, play football and hang out with my friends.”
This comes after Katherine transformed into Regina George’s mother last week when she hit the pink carpet at the opening night of Mean Girls: The Musical on Wednesday night.
The star replicated the iconic character as she joined her 15-year-old daughter Violet on the red carpet at the Savoy Theatre.
The mother-of-three donned her trademark pink tracksuit while holding the camcorder, just like the aggressive mother did in the 2004 film.
Taking a leaf out of Kris Jenner’s book, Katherine isn’t the first to dress up as Regina George’s mother.
Katherine and Violet had fun on the pink carpet before heading to the theater to see the show.
The blonde beauty is mother to Violet with her ex Alex Edelman.
Katherine recently detailed how her three children have “ruined the life she had before” becoming a mother.
The comedian admitted that since she had her children she has not been able to continue doing all the things she could do before.
Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: “My children have enriched my life, they are a blessing and I would never trade them for anything. But I’d be lying if I said they didn’t ruin the life I had before. But I’ve rebuilt a better one and that’s okay…”
“I’d be pretending if I said I could still do all the things I could do before and I think we’re selling this fantasy of what motherhood means if we’re not honest about it.”
Katherine also recently admitted that her “marriage has taken a backseat” when opening up about her relationship with Bobby, whom she married in 2019.
She said her children come first and she likes to spend as much time as possible with them, which includes sleeping together.
Speaking on the ITV daytime show, ahead of the launch of her new documentary series, Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance, she said she is still “navigating” parenthood and struggling with mom guilt.
She told Lorraine Kelly: “I have a wonderful life because I do exactly what is right for the family and I welcome those who hate me. The show is about doing it your way and my way is not everyone’s way. families. I personally sleep with my children…”

The documentary series examines the ways in which Katherine and her partner Bobby differ in their parenting strategies and how they reconcile those differences.
During a sneak peek, Bobby said: “We have different parenting styles. Katherine and I now co-sleep with the kids separately because the babies were constantly waking up. Honestly, two more years of this unless we have more kids.”
Katherine added: “I wish we could have another one, no one says on their deathbed that they wish they had fewer children.”
