Julie Chrisley has been ordered to appear in person at an upcoming resentencing hearing, after requesting to attend virtually.
The 51-year-old reality star made headlines in June when her seven-year prison sentence on bank fraud and tax evasion charges was overturned.
Her husband, Todd Chrisley, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, although his wife Julie could now be released much sooner.
Julie’s attorneys requested a virtual appearance for “an unnecessarily long period of time and imposes undue physical hardship,” according to the Atlanta newspaper. WSB Television.
She is currently being held at FMC Lexington in Kentucky and must now travel to Atlanta for the hearing.

“Because Ms. Chrisley is currently in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) out of the state of Georgia, it is likely that the BOP will either transfer her through the transfer facility in Oklahoma City or place her in a van for an extended trip of several hours while handcuffed to facilitate her court appearance,” a filing from Chrisley’s legal team reads.
The judge rejected the request and required him to appear in person at the hearing, scheduled for September 25.
Her husband Todd’s sentence has been reduced to 10 years, while Julie’s has had 14 months shaved off.
However, a judge ruled in June that Julie’s prison sentence should be overturned because the previous judge miscalculated her sentence.
“After careful consideration and with the benefit of oral argument, we affirm the district court’s decision on all issues except the amount of the loss attributed to Julie,” the judge said in June.
“The district court did not identify the evidence it relied on to hold Julie liable for losses suffered before 2007, and we cannot independently find it in the record,” the judge’s statement added.
The case was sent back to the lower court so they could…resentence her accordingly.
“The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals reversed Ms. Chrisley’s sentence and remanded the case for resentencing,” Julie’s legal team said in their statement.

“While this does not constitute a dismissal of the case against him, it will result in a new sentence in accordance with the Court of Appeals’ instructions,” they added.

“With this step forward, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that sparked the case,” the lawyer added.
