Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are trying to do everything they can to make their divorce as easy as possible for their children.

The estranged couple enjoyed a “fun lunch” with their children at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, according to a source who spoke to People.

“Everyone got together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out,” the source told the outlet, explaining that Lopez, 55, is “trying to be friendly with Ben,” 52.

Lopez’s twins, Emme and Max, 16, who she shares with ex Marc Anthony, were there along with Affleck’s younger children, Fin, 15, and Sam, 12, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. His oldest daughter, Violent, 18, was not there because she attends Yale University.

The source appeared to credit Lopez for trying to maintain a smooth transition.

“A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it. The kids always get along and have fun together. It makes her happy to see them happy together. Happy kids are her priority,” the source said.

The couple, who tied the knot in July 2022 in Las Vegas and had a more formal ceremony at Affleck’s home in Georgia a month later, tied the knot without a prenuptial agreement.

According to her divorce petition, Lopez, who filed the papers herself, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Lopez, who changed her last name to Affleck after marriage, wants her surname, Lopez, legally restored.

She has asked for no spousal support and for each to pay their own attorney fees.

“However, they are moving forward with the divorce and are working out the financial details amicably.”

Among those details is the sale of their Beverly Hills mansion, which is listed for $68 million. The couple bought it in June 2023 for just under $61 million.

The Oscar winner moved into his own home in Pacific Palisades, which he purchased for $20.5 million in July.

A source close to the family said Lopez is making the children her priority.

The singer is still looking for a home of her own in the Los Angeles area.

She has reportedly been eyeing a property in the Holmby Hills area that was previously owned by designer Max Azria, according to TMZ.

The mansion is in the same neighborhood as the home owned by her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs, 54, which was recently raided earlier this year by Homeland Security agents after several lawsuits were filed against the music mogul alleging sexual assault, abuse and trafficking.

There are unlikely to be any embarrassing interactions between the former couple. Combs has put her home up for sale for a price of $61 million.
