In his next role, Jack plays the singer, husband of singer Amy, who tragically died of alcohol poisoning aged 27 in 2011, opposite Industry’s 27-year-old Marisa Abela.

Back To Black, which has been endorsed by Amy’s father Mitch (played by Eddie Marsan), has sparked outrage from the singer’s friends, who criticized it for its “macabre” depictions of the girl’s drug addiction. star and also for filming his funeral.

But when talking about whether it was “too soon” to make the biopic, Jack defended that the filmmakers asked what an “acceptable time frame” would be.

He said Sunday weather: ‘Let’s put it this way: if we were trying to portray her in any form of negative light, then that might be a valid point and I can understand one or two people jumping on that. But if you talk to Sam [Taylor-Johnson, director] “We don’t even call this a biopic, it’s a celebration.”

Jack went on to claim that he thought maybe Amy’s father, Mitch, wanted to ‘dress him up’ during his visits to the set and see him dressed as Blake.

Blake, who was married to the singer between 2007 and 2009, previously admitted introducing her to heroin and many of her fans hold her partly responsible for her untimely death.
