Denmark’s King Frederick’s decision to kiss his wife Queen Mary on the balcony of Christiansborg Castle today was far from spontaneous, a body language expert said.
The new kings kissed shortly after Frederick succeeded to the throne, following the abdication of Queen Margaret II, which was formalized today in Copenhagen.
After Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen declared him king, King Frederick X was joined by his wife Mary and their four children: Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine.
At one point, Frederik turned to kiss Mary, to loud applause from the crowd gathered under the balcony of Christiansborg Castle.
But body language expert Adrianne Carter told FEMAIL that the kiss was clearly something Frederik had planned, rather than something spontaneous.

“He pulls her in for a kiss, which he tries to do several times before it actually happens.”
“This is something he has planned, rather than something spontaneous.”
Adrianne also notes that when Frederik tries to kiss Mary on the side of her forehead, she ‘doesn’t react in any way; she just accepts.’

Adrianne said: ‘We Watch Frederik hug Mary and kiss the side of her forehead. She doesn’t react in any way; She just accepts.
‘I wonder if Frederik is still in the doghouse?’
Rumors of an affair circulated late last year, after the now King was seen on a night out with Genoveva in Madrid.
The Mexican socialite was later forced to deny what she called “malicious” rumors after photos of her with the Crown Prince in the Spanish capital emerged.
